The Child Support and RAP Sheet Specialist is responsible for seeing clients throughout their entire stay in the RWA program as well as maintaining contact with them for 12 months after graduation. 



RESPONSIBILITIES:

Child Support

● Works with participants to minimize and make child support payments manageable

● Coordinates child support garnishment of clients

● Assists in the development of Parenting Workshops and Resources

● Serves as liaison between clients and the Courts and Office of Child Support Enforcement 

● Assists clients in managing ACS cases related to their children including outside of NYS 

● Assists clients in managing and pursuing visitations and or gaining custody of their children

● Delivers a six week curriculum for parenting course 

● Oversees all Fatherhood parenting classes in the RWA program 

● Attends monthly partnership meetings with OCSE 

● Develops and wrote proposals for program enhancements

● Organizes parenting events 

● Participate in staff meetings and team meetings

● Participate on a job sector team


RAP Sheets

● Reviews RAP Sheets from FBI and DCJS for accuracy and potential errors 

● Responsible for collecting and ordering RAP all RAP sheets as well as inputting data into TDF database 

● Makes referrals to Community Service Society when necessary 

● Creates Conviction summaries for participants 

● Assist with sealing of certain criminal conviction in accordance to Criminal Procedure Law §160.59



QUALIFICATIONS:

● A passionate desire to motivate participants to set up child support payments both as a trainee and as a grad and order RAP sheets

● Bachelor’s degree, MSW preferred

● Two to four years of experience working with workforce re-entry for those with significant re-entry barriers; especially the homeless and individuals with conviction histories

● Two to four years of classroom facilitation

● Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with a in a culturally diverse environment

● Ability to travel to all three of The Doe Fund facilities in Harlem and in Brooklyn

● Strong oral and written communication, presentation and networking skills

● Excellent organizational skills

● Manage multiple agendas effectively

● Ability to follow-up and multi-task

● Ability to work independently

● Be a team player

● Flexible, creative and solution-oriented approach to issues

● Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs, including Excel and Word

● Strong work ethic

● Able to work on average two-three evenings per week

● Fulfill other job duties as necessary

   



Salary commensurate with experience.
