Position Summary

ScholarMatch is seeking a full-time, exempt Programming Lead to play an important role in our non-profit. The Destination College Programming Lead is responsible for managing program projects and elements related to senior year programming, implementing student recruitment and intake, student programming including workshops, the Scholars Program recruitment and selection process, and data collection. The Programming lead is responsible for providing updates to partners as it pertains to student recruitment, engagement and the scholarship selection process. This position reports to the Director of College Access.

This position is ideal for a candidate who has a passion for our mission, curriculum development skills, knowledge of college access, understanding and knowledge of first-generation students and/or low-to-moderate income student experience, excellent event and project management skills, and interest in using data to improve effectiveness and advance our mission.


Major Responsibilities

  • Implement all aspects of student recruitment and intake which includes, but is not limited to: implementing regional student recruitment strategy, developing recruitment materials, setting dates for recruitment and onboarding, managing the student intake process, liaise with and build relationships with key stakeholders, including partners, CBOs, high schools, and community members as it relates to student recruitment and the scholars selection process
  • Identify key partners and schools and set recruitment targets, drafting communications for junior recruitment and engagement, and developing content for webinars to be used for recruitment, provide intake updates to community advocates and partners
  • Lead implementation of the junior and senior programming including: updating college ready milestones as needed, planning & developing a virtual webinar schedule and curriculum for seniors, hosting project kick-offs, updating existing and developing new curriculum as needed, lead student communication outreach, tracking, and nudging of program goals and milestone completion, reviewing student program agreements and other forms, and uploading data; developing and sending student newsletters and other communication to increase student engagement
  • Manage the Scholars Program recruitment & selection process which includes: tracking applications, volunteers for the application review and interview process, developing and sending student communications, developing Scholars program informational sessions, coordinating interview process, reading and scoring applications, participating in the interview process and managing the transition of finalists from Destination College to the Scholars Program
  • Collaborate with the Director of College Access to revamp existing student programming to best meet current student needs and identify new programming as needed
  • Collaborate with the Volunteer Manager to co-host coach and student webinars related to the college application process, if applicable 
  • Cross collaborate with the volunteer team about student communications related to college ready milestones 
  • Gather insight from DC caseload managers to inform event design and programming curriculum development
  • Manage a College Coach caseload and provide robust virtual support navigating the college admissions process 
  • Collect and track robust student data to analyze program effectiveness, regularly review the data to assess student outcomes with the Director of College Access
  • Ensure all yearly program elements and tasks are accurately inputted into ScholarMatch Internal systems and project management software to oversee student communications and events
  • Maintain close communication and collaborate with the Development team to provide partners with updates as they pertain to program elements under purview of this role
  • Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • Three (3) - Four (4) years of professional program management experience required in a related field
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred, not required
  • Experience in developing partnerships and managing stakeholder relationships 
  • Experience in scholarship management and operations 
  • Detailed and current knowledge of college access landscape in California; plus if experience with San Francisco Bay Area landscape 
  • Knowledge of support needs and experience working with first-generation, low-income to moderate income students
  • Strong public speaking, communication, writing, and project management skills
  • Experience in the development or creation of curriculum, trainings, and student events 
  • Ability to be flexible and work in a collaborative and/or remote open-plan work environment
  • Ability to hold sensitive information confidentially, and navigate urgent and sensitive student issues with care, maturity, and responsibility
  • Must be able to perform all functions of this position within what would be deemed to be reasonable accommodations
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with a variety of personalities throughout the organization
  • Must be comfortable working in an anti-racist orgnaization with a diverse group of external callers and visitors and internal staff at all levels

Salary

Starting salary is commensurate with experience, regional location, and is based on a competitive public interest salary scale.
