BASF is a nonprofit organization and the oldest voluntary bar association in California. Today, over 7,400 San Francisco lawyers are members of BASF, which prides itself as being one of the most active and innovative local bar associations. Our offices are located in the Financial District. In addition to services and benefits to our members, BASF provides a variety of legal services to San Francisco residents including our Lawyer Referral and Information Service, Alternative Dispute Resolution, and the Justice & Diversity Center (including the Homeless Advocacy Project) which is the largest provider of legal services to San Franciscans.
BASF also offers a variety of charitable programs, including Food from the Bar, Head Start Holiday Gift Program, Law Academy, School-To-College, Destination Law School and the Minority Law Student Scholarship programs.
About the Job:
The Communications Coordinator manages the production of three annual directories, including marketing, sales, database management, and customer service. The annual directories generate significant revenue for the department and the Communications Coordinator is responsible for meeting sales goals, tracking progress as well as sales reporting and forecasting. The Communications Coordinator is further responsible for managing technology projects, including design and implementation of new online directory portals and online directories. Data analysis and reporting are also important functions of this position, as the Communications Coordinator is responsible for monitoring and reporting on website, social media and email marketing analytics. An integral part of the communications team, the Communications Coordinator co-manages website and blog updates, as well as email marketing. Further, the Communications Coordinator supports the efforts of the Director of Communications and Public Relations by assisting with research projects, surveys, production of publications and event collateral.
The successful candidate will have the following:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree, Sales and Marketing, Design or an equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and expertise sufficient to perform the essential duties of the position
Minimum two years’ experience in sales, communications or marketing
Experience in marketing and sales is a prerequisite
Project management experience
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
Proven ability to sell products and/or services to existing and prospective customers
Ability to comprehend technical language, communicate issues clearly, and source and implement technology solutions
Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a dynamic and deadline-driven environment
Proven ability to adapt and work independently, inter-departmentally, and as part of project-based teams, as needed
Excellent customer service skills, professional demeanor, and collaborative approach to problem-solving
Knowledge of nonprofit marketing, communications and public relations principles
Knowledge of basic graphic design, file preparation and exporting preferred
Advanced MS Excel skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Access, Adobe Acrobat
Proficiency in data manipulation, exploratory data analysis, and database administration. Knowledge of Microsoft Access required, SQL, iMis databases preferred.
Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite applications, especially Dreamweaver, InDesign and Photoshop
Knowledge of content management systems (WordPress preferred), customer management systems and email marketing systems
