Administrative & Finance Officer

Part-time (20 - 25 hrs per week)

OVERVIEW

The Global Center on Cooperative Security (Global Center) is seeking an Administrative & Finance Officer to support administration of company finances, policies, and procedures. The position is for 20 - 25 hours per week. Scheduling options are flexible but at least some morning availability is preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will be based in the Global Center’s Washington D.C. office. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

 

Financial administration – 50%

·        Accounts payable processing (including checks, wire transfers and payroll)

·        Reconcile bank and credit card statements

·        Ensure compliance with procurement guidelines and financial procedures

·        Maintain financial records and assist with annual audit

·        Draft and monitor consultancy agreements

·        Prepare financial reports for management


Human resources administration – 25%

·        Oversee new employee orientation process

·        Employee enrollment and ongoing administration of employee benefit programs

·        Stay apprised of labor law developments and ensure compliance

 

Organizational/office management – 25%

·        Schedule meetings of the board of directors and keep meeting minutes

·        Office administration (ordering supplies, booking conference room, receiving mail, etc.)

·        Manage vendors and contractors


QUALIFICATIONS

·        B.A. or B.S degree in business/public administration, human resources, public program management, international relations, public policy, development, or other related field

·        Strong inter-personal skills and experience collaborating with multi-national team members

·        Ability to follow established policies and procedures and maintain confidentiality

·        Ability to manage time and work independently with minimal supervision

·        Prior experience in accounts payable and/or bank transaction processing preferred

·        Experience using accounting systems such as Quickbooks preferred

·        Experience with employee benefit program administration preferred

·        U.S. work authorization
