MUIH is seeking a part-time adjunct faculty member to teach the Yoga Therapy Practices and Principles Course on Integrating Yoga Therapy into conventional healthcare environments. The course is offered in a hybrid executive format with classes held over three weekends in a trimester. Two weekends are on campus, one weekend is synchronous online. The course contains additional online components. This two credit course will be scheduled for Fall of 2021 with on-campus dates in September and November and online dates in October. Hours the course may run include: Noon to 9pm on Thursday or 9am to 6pm on Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

Essential Functions

  • Teach (including all responsibilities associated with teaching) on campus and online (synchronous and asynchronous)
  • Assess student learning outcomes
  • Grade and review assignments
  • Monitor student progress and issue grades
  • Prepare and upload learning materials
  • Collaborate with the Department Chair
  • With the community culture in mind, employee will serve on committees as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Qualifications

Required:

Knowledge - Degrees and/or certifications

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution

Experience

  • Minimum two years experience delivering Yoga Therapy in partnership with licensed, conventional health care providers

Preferred:

Knowledge - Degrees and/or certifications

  • C-IAYT

Experience

  • Teaching experience at a post secondary academic institution

Skills and Abilities

  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral)

Supervisory Responsibility

None
