Description Summary: DOROT Westchester is poised for growth and is looking for a social worker to help us reach more adults 60 and older to engage and support them in a variety of meaningful ways. Identifying and recruiting volunteers to make a difference in the lives of seniors in Westchester is a key component of this newly created position. Reducing isolation for older adults is a significant goal of our programs and services.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • ·       Serve as liaison for outreach and engagement to potential community partners to recruit volunteers and older persons 60 and older who would benefit from our programs and services
  • ·       Represent DOROT at community outreach meetings and conferences and network with local agencies and organizations at least 6 times per month
  • ·       Provide information, referral and advocacy to DOROT’s clients and the general community
  • ·       Recruit, screen, interview and orient volunteers 13 and older for DOROT programs and services
  • ·       Perform in-home assessments and annual reassessments of 4 clients per month for a caseload of 60
  • ·       Collect, track and maintain information related to client interactions using DOROTs’ Client Information Management System/Salesforce, and Peer Place for Westchester County; routine data entry and review of monthly statistics
  • ·       Supervise graduate interns, volunteers, and students as needed 
  • ·       Work on special projects and duties as assigned by Director

Required Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of professional social work experience 
  • LMSW required or similar advanced degree
  • Strong interpersonal and clinical skills
  • Strong group facilitation and presentation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Experience working with older adults a plus
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  •  Proven record of program development and relationship building
  • Experience working with volunteers a plus
  • Knowledge of aging and community resources in Westchester County a plus
  • ·Experience working with volunteers a plus Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite 2010, advanced knowledge of EXCEL
  •  Must have a valid New York State driver’s license and the use of a car
