We’re seeking a dynamic and motivated Annual Fund and Database Manager to help fuel our mission and expand the support that keeps our important work thriving. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated development professional who excels at connecting with donors, cultivating relationships, and ensuring every contribution is met with sincere appreciation.

    What You’ll Do:

As the Annual Fund and Database Manager, you will take the lead in growing and nurturing a broad base of donors who care about conservation. Your role will involve:

    • Driving Engagement: Lead dynamic and impactful annual appeals, by creating compelling, mission-focused messages that motivate donor support, boost contributions, and enhance long-term relationships, while clearly communicating the impact of their gifts.
    • Growing Our Donor Community: Work closely with our Director of Development to implement strategies that attract new donors, retain current supporters, and increase giving at all levels below $1,500.
    • Managing Our Donor Database: Keep our donor data sharp and organized, handling everything from clean-up and exports to generating reports that inform key donor strategies.
    • Streamlining Gift Acknowledgment: Manage the stewardship process to ensure every gift receives prompt, accurate, and heartfelt acknowledgment, whether it’s a simple donation or a more complex transfer.
    • Delivering Exceptional Donor Event Experiences: Oversee the event process, from invitations and RSVPs to logistics and follow-up, ensuring flawless execution of donor events. You’ll also provide support for high-profile gatherings, working alongside the Director of Development to create meaningful and memorable experiences.

    Why This Role Matters:

At Winnakee Land Trust, the Annual Fund is the backbone of our fundraising efforts. Your work will help ensure that our donors feel connected to our mission, knowing that their contributions are preserving natural habitats, protecting wildlife, and making a tangible difference in our region. This position is perfect for someone who loves building relationships, appreciates the value of data-driven decision-making, and has a passion for conservation.

    Your Talents Include:

    • Development Expertise: You have at least two years of experience running a successful non-profit annual fund and managing a donor database like DonorPerfect.
    • People Skills: You’re great at building relationships, communicating clearly, and ensuring donors feel valued.
    • Data Mastery: You know how to manage databases, create reports, and use data to inform strategies that work.
    • Event Planning: You have experience managing donor events, from planning through to follow-up, and you know how to make every gathering memorable.
    • Attention to Detail: Whether you’re managing data or writing thank-you notes, you are meticulous in your work.

    Why You’ll Love Working Here:

    • You’ll be part of a passionate team committed to protecting the environment and making a tangible impact on local conservation efforts.
    • You’ll have opportunities to engage directly with donors, sharing the story of our beautiful landscapes and the important role they play in our community.
    • You’ll enjoy a balance of office work and occasional time spent in nature, visiting our properties and seeing firsthand the results of your hard work.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
    • Minimum of three years’ experience successfully managing a non-profit annual fund program.
    • Proven ability to manage donor databases (DonorPerfect or similar) and engage with donors.
    • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
    • A passion for conservation and the mission of Winnakee Land Trust.

    Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

    • Primarily office-based with some outdoor work, including occasional weekend and evening responsibilities.
    • Valid driver’s license required for travel to events and property visits.

If you’re ready to take on a pivotal role in supporting conservation and building lasting relationships with passionate supporters, we’d love to hear from you!
