Responsibilities: The Assistant Bookkeeper is responsible for the following aspects of the Accounting:

- Assist in preparing accounting ledgers pertaining to expenses, revenues incurred for different accounts. - Organize invoices, packing slips with supply orders from all HCE program budgets in order to pay monthly. - Post and monitor purchase orders for organization and manage payables on QuickBooks program. - Process check requests to approve by Bookkeeper. - Prepare and organize accounting files for Annual Audit and operational use. - Maintain copies of and prepare forms needed by Executive Director, Bookkeeper, and Auditors. - Send checks by mail for all account payables. - Prepare and Print Breakdown of semi-monthly and prorated salaries for full and part time employees for Audit, Bookkeeper and Secretary. - Perform other bookkeeping tasks as assigned by the Bookkeeper.

Qualifications: This position is part time, twelve –month appointment requiring an Associate’s Degree in Accounting. The person must have excellent oral, writing and organizational skills; professional demeanor and at least two years of bookkeeping experience and computer use, Spanish bilingual applicants would be preferable. Familiarity with QuickBooks Premier Accounting Program, Microsoft Excel and Word Programs is required.

Salary: $14.00/hour for a minimum of 30 hours per week
