The Building Skills Partnership is a statewide non-profit training collaboration between the California janitors’ union, SEIU-USWW, leading building service employers, and the broader community. BSP develops innovative leadership and education programs to increase the skills, opportunities and self-sufficiency of low-wage building service workers, their families, and communities. BSP is hiring an experienced English as a Second Language (ESL) instructor for a worksite class in VACAVILLE. Instructors will teach 2 days a week on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 3:30pm-4:30pm. The class will be ongoing for 6-12 months. Compensation for travel time will be considered for qualified out of town applicants.


REQUIREMENTS:

Teach multilevel vocational ESL & Digital Literacy to 10-25 adult low-wage workers (primarily janitors). Classes are learner-centered and vocational in nature. Curriculum will be provided, but some prep work is required.

Complete minimal administrative work in a timely fashion. Admin duties may include, but are not limited to, maintaining class attendance and assessment records, distributing flyers to students about additional educational opportunities, and completing other BSP paperwork. 


California Adult Ed Teaching Credential and/or M.A. in TESOL/TEFL preferred

Level of Language Proficiency

English fluency required. Spanish proficiency strongly preferred.
