Position Overview

The Maryland Coalition Against Sexual Assault (MCASA) provides technical assistance, training, outreach, and prevention. This position is responsible for coordination of MCASA prevention and education program, including communication to raise awareness of sexual assault and development of the college consortium. Duties also include supporting training for professionals responding to sexual assault. This is a full-time position that reports directly to the Policy Attorney (Schools). Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree and 5 or more years work experience or a Master’s Degree and 3 or more years work experience will be considered for a Senior Program Coordinator position.

Responsibilities and Duties


Prevention:

·        Coordinate, develop, and maintain MCASA’s Sexual Assault Prevention Program, including drafting, updating, and maintaining print and electronic materials, such as brochures, fact sheets, and other outreach.

· Assist with coordinating MCASA Program Intern recruitment. 

· Assist in the management of MCASA’s website, electronic communications, wiki sites, and social media to raise awareness of sexual assault and prevention activities. This includes creating and adding content to Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and other social media, distribution of mass emails, and assisting with updates and producing status reports. This position works closely with MCASA’s communications coordinator.

·        Support rape crisis and recovery programs primary prevention efforts.

·        Coordinate and manage publication of MCASA’s quarterly electronic newsletter.


Education:

· Coordinate, develop, and maintain College Consortium, including attending meetings and managing communications

· Manage outreach database and reports.  


General:

·        Collect data and prepare grant reports.

·        Support effective agency communications including, for example, listservs, social media, e-newsletter, conference calls, etc.

·        Prioritize and fulfill responsibilities in accordance with available funding and grant requirements.

· Produce, update and distribute electronic and tangible materials including announcements, brochures, booklets, fact sheets, press releases and other outreach.

·        Support, develop, and coordinate trainings for professionals working with sexual assault survivors, including before, during, and after. Participate in pre- and post- training activities, including preparatory meetings, training debriefs, data entry and analysis of formal evaluation forms, and follow-up surveys of FNEs, advocates, or others who have attended MCASA trainings.  

·        Provide technical assistance to Maryland’s Rape Crisis & Recovery Centers, MCASA members and professionals working with survivors.

·        Prioritize and fulfill responsibilities in accordance with available funding and grant requirements.

·        Other duties as assigned by Executive Director or Policy Attorney (Schools).


Qualifications: 

·        Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. Public Health, Women’s Studies, or related degree preferred. Those with a Bachelor’s degree and 5 or more years work experience or a Master’s Degree and 3 or more years work experience will be considered for a Senior Program Coordinator position.

·        Experience working with survivors of sexual assault or other personal violence such as domestic violence, child abuse, elder abuse, or stalking preferred

·        Knowledge and/or previous work experience to include one or more of the following: writing, professional training, community outreach

·        Strong oral and written communication, organizational, problem solving and planning skills

·        Familiarity with program evaluation helpful

·        Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Power Point, Excel), Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), and NEON and Expression Engine preferred

·        Ability to use and communicate professionally and effectively through e-mail and social media including Facebook, Twitter, and other platforms; able to learn and use new technology such as online databases and communication systems

·        Commitment to ending sexual violence

·        Access to a car and valid drivers license; this position requires travel within Maryland
