The New York Philharmonic connects with up to 50 million music lovers each season through live concerts in New York and around the world, as well as broadcasts, recordings, and education programs. The 2022–23 season marks a new chapter in the life of America’s longest living orchestra with the opening of the reimagined David Geffen Hall and programming that engages with today’s cultural conversations through explorations of HOME, LIBERATION, SPIRIT, and EARTH, in addition to the premieres of 16 works. This marks the return from the pandemic, when the NY Phil launched NY Phil Bandwagon, presenting free performances across the city, and 2021–22 concerts at other New York City venues. 

The New York Philharmonic seeks a Digital Experience Coordinator to work closely with the Director of Digital Platforms and Experience and all departments to identify, report and track defects and issues with our digital platforms, as well as provide insights and recommendations to improve the overall user experience online.


Responsibilities include:

  • Provides quality assurance testing for My Account, Online Ticketing, and the digital purchase path.
  • Primary point of contact for updates on the company’s content management system (CMS), providing support for daily updates on nyphil.org and other digital platforms.
  • Stays up to date with emerging technologies and best practices in QA and UX.
  • Works with multiple departments to publish video, audio and multimedia across digital channels.
  • Assists with basic code updates as needed.
  • Supports content updates on nyphil.org and other digital platforms. 
  • Uploads and publishes content on the company's CMS platform, ensuring quality and brand standards. 
  • Performs quality assurance checks and assists with online troubleshooting. 
  • Supports cross-departmental teams with daily website updates and projects to meet production deadlines. 
  • Researches and suggests improvements to online user experience.
  • Assists with testing and scheduling content for the David Geffen Hall on-campus screens.
  • Supports production of multimedia content. 
  • Stays up to date with industry trends and best practices. 
  • Handles projects and administrative needs, including the processing of invoices and sales reports. 
  • Commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working environment.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Requirements:

A college degree with minimum of 2 years of web team and production experience. Experience working with an enterprise CMS and comfort working with basic HTML and Adobe Creative Suite. Candidate will have working knowledge of media file types, including benefits and limitations; experience working within a small digital team and must be current on the latest digital trends from an early adopter and a generalist perspective. Will also have excellent interpersonal skills to work across various departments to support a consistent, high-quality digital experience for New York Philharmonic users and strong project management skills to coordinate project development efforts and maximize resources across departments. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Usability training and/or experience a plus; knowledge of the live entertainment space preferred.
