Community Access to the Arts (CATA) seeks a highly motivated, organized individual ready to make a difference at our innovative, award-winning arts organization. As CATA’s Program Associate, you will apply your talents to support CATA’s dynamic mission of art and inclusion. You are detail-oriented and have a strong interest in the arts and in CATA’s mission. The ideal candidate is self-motivated who leads with initiative while supporting day-to-day tasks of the Program Team. Project management and interpersonal communication skills are essential. Reporting to the Program Coordinator and Program Manager, you will:

Core Responsibilities:

  • Support program staff in coordinating a robust series of arts workshops in partnership with 50 social service agencies, public schools, residences, and nursing homes;
  • Work closely with CATA’s faculty to help schedule workshops, manage timesheets, and follow up on other time-sensitive correspondence;
  • Maintain master calendar of workshops and communicate with faculty about changes to their workshop schedule;
  • Process program revenue in coordination with program team and administrative director;
  • Maintain contact information for all program-related individuals and organizations; keeping database records up-to-date;
  • Draft correspondence and written materials as assigned, with scrupulous attention to proofreading;
  • Plan and coordinate CATA’s public programs in collaboration with colleagues, and participate hands-on at events;
  • Manage art supply inventory and oversee studio organization, cleaning, and upkeep;
  • Assist in curating, installing, and coordinating art exhibits at local museums and galleries, including creating pricelists, labels, and signage;
  • Manage volunteer program by serving as initial point of contact for volunteer inquiries and creating appropriate matches; work with staff and faculty to identify volunteer opportunities;
  • Other duties as assigned including filing and modest schlepping.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in the arts, education or related field;
  • 2 or more years of relevant work experience;
  • Excellent computer skills. Must be proficient in MS Office Suite and other essential systems, especially MS Word, Excel, and Google Docs;
  • Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to take initiative, problem-solve, and meet deadlines;
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member with ease in interacting with diverse communities;
  • Excellent organizational skills with project management experience and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and shift direction when needed.
  • Experience with art education and/or arts administration a plus
  • Must have reliable transportation to Great Barrington, MA
