DC Peers, a small nonprofit dedicated to creating more inclusive and neurodiverse social opportunities in the community, is looking for part-time facilitators for its free and low-cost neurodiverse social groups. Our programs bring autistic and neurotypical peers together to socialize and/or discuss and strategize about the complexities of the social world and the misunderstandings created by neurological differences.

DC Peers is doing something unique in this area, and we have increased demand this Fall.  Working with us is a great opportunity for those who are professionally and/or personally interested and invested in deepening our community’s understanding, acceptance, and inclusion of our autistic and neurodivergent peers. 

We are seeking professionals or graduate students who are interested in neurodiversity and autism, and who are studying education, occupational therapy, psychology, speech pathology, or a related field.  We will provide training.  Will pay $35-50 hour based on experience.  Qualifications of the ideal candidate: experience leading groups and/or teaching, experience with or deep interest in autism and neurodiversity, excellent communication skills, sense of humor, resourcefulness, flexibility, and reliable availability on Sunday afternoons, some Saturday afternoons and weeknights.
