Summary:

Global Kids, Inc. is seeking to contract with dynamic, hard-working, and creative individuals who have expertise in visual or performing arts; including but not limited to dance, theater, painting, sculpture, digital media, martial arts. Experience in youth development and anti-racist practice and pedagogy is preferred. Interest in global education, social action, and providing coaching, and mentorship to middle school aged young people in team-based setting is a plus. Teaching Artists are asked to implement arts instruction to multiple groups per site on a semester-long or year-long basis. Teaching artists also can work at multiple sites located in New York City throughout the week.

A Successful Teaching Artist:

● demonstrates expertise in their area of instruction.

● has experience & enthusiasm for working with middle school aged youth.

● is able to design and implement their curricula using anti-racist pedagogical practices.

● utilizes engaging and interactive learning strategies based on multiple intelligences.

● has excellent facilitation, consensus-building, collaborative and interpersonal skills.

● has strong communication, writing, organizational, and technology skills

● serves as a positive role model for participants by upholding Global Kids guidelines while demonstrating professional language and behavior.

● attends professional development workshops.
