About the Position

The Development Program Coordinator supports the Resource Development department’s donor engagement programming. Our goal is increasing the overall donor experience and donor buy-in to Habitat’s mission, ultimately allowing us to serve more families. This position performs a variety of functions that ensure a positive donor experience and supports the affiliate’s fundraising goals. Development programming includes: fundraisers (e.g., annual luncheon, GiveBIG), mailings and appeals, grant deliverables and tracking, and large build events (e.g., Women Build, Delta Build, Interfaith Build). The Development Program Coordinator conducts reporting and analytics in support of the fiscal year funding priorities. The Coordinator plays a lead role in the design, implementation, and support of systems and processes, which optimize the department’s effectiveness and efficiency. This is a non-exempt, full-time staff position.


Primary Duties and Core Responsibilities:

  1. Project Management Support and Execution for:
  2. Annual Luncheon support: Honoree planning and recognition, Table Captain outreach and coordination, Showcase planning and coordination, Sponsor cultivation/renewals, and recognition coordination.
  3. Mailings & Appeals: Year-End, membership program, etc.
  4. Grant deliverables and sponsor benefits tracking and reporting 
  5. Large build events (e.g., Women Build, Delta Build, Interfaith Build)
  6. Other fundraising events and efforts (e.g., GiveBIG, donor research, donor visit packets)
  7. Reporting & Analytics
  8. Tracking Annual Funding Priorities Report, a report produced monthly for Board & RD Committee review
  9. Raiser’s Edge database support: new constituent entry, attributes tagging, update records, etc.
  10. Systems Development support and implementation of:
  11. Annual fund/Membership program
  12. Cross-constituency Donor levels and benefits
  13. Cross-departmental benefits delivery coordination
  14. Grants management life cycle: create and maintain a calendar to track grant application prospects, RFPs, and reports.
  15. Other duties as assigned by supervisor, such as:
  16.  Participate in Faith Committee/ Steering Council
  17. Internal meetings (RD team IDC, home dedication planning, Elevate grant reviews, etc)
  18. Mentoring of RD AmeriCorps VISTA member


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Minimum of 2 – 3 years’ experience fundraising and event planning
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to achieve goals
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented and able to balance priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and shows ability to learn new business software programs

  • Good working knowledge, appreciation for, and understanding of Habitat for Humanity programming and mission
  • Project management skills and experience
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with an aptitude to prioritize tasks to meet conflicting deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, collaboration, and communication skills - both written and verbal - which transcend diverse audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams, as well as provide consistent, high-quality service to a wide variety of internal and external constituents
  • Proficient in Raiser’s Edge software
