Compensation:       $60,000-$65,000, DOE


The Violence Intervention Program, Inc. (VIP) partners with Latina/o/x communities to end gender-based violence. Created as a grassroots response to domestic and sexual violence, VIP has always centered survivors in its leadership and has worked to create a community of staff that reflects the rich national, ethnic and racial diversity of the communities it serves. VIP operates three community-based social service programs, two residential shelter and housing programs, a 24/7 hotline, innovative economic justice and sexual violence programs, and a robust communications and outreach team.

The Development Manager will develop systems, research prospects and set the stage for the Executive Director to cultivate prospects, steward donors and close gifts. They will also work as a staff liaison with the Board Development & Philanthropy committee to ensure that the board has tools and training and is fully engaged in the efforts to raise needed funds. The ideal candidate is passionate about VIP’s work, goal-oriented, enjoys researching new funding opportunities, excels at building meaningful relationships, and keeps meticulous records.


Essential Functions:

Ø Cultivate new funders and individual donors to support existing programs, special initiatives, and general operations;

Ø Support the Executive Director to coordinate fundraising campaigns, including appeals, online campaigns and special events;

Ø Maintain great relationships with all board members, and provide information, resources and general support to the Development committee of the Board;

Ø Research and remain abreast of trends in philanthropy and fundraising;

Ø Optimize use of VIP’s current technology and donor database and recommend improvements to VIP’s fundraising data management;

Ø Develop and manage excellent tracking systems for in-kind donations and volunteer contributions;

Ø Support corporate volunteer programs;

Ø Partner with program leadership staff for strategic fundraising based on client needs and to pursue innovative responses to domestic and sexual violence;

Ø Partner closely with Director of Quality Assurance and Compliance and Data Manager for data-driven fundraising campaigns and to increase grants and donor support;

Ø Liaise with fundraising consultants event planning, donor prospecting, etc.;

Ø Supervise interns with the goal of fostering next-generation leadership and inspiring commitment to ending gender-based violence;

Ø Perform other tasks as required or assigned by the Executive Director.


 

Requirements:

Ø Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field, Master’s Degree preferred;

Ø Three plus (3+) years of relevant experience;

Ø Bilingual in English and Spanish;

Ø Possess a genuine passion for VIP’s mission;

Ø Proven track record of achieving fundraising targets;

Ø Relevant experience working with major donors;

Ø Exceptional verbal and written communications skills, with ability to engage diverse audiences; 

Ø Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment;

Ø Ability to interact with and lead diverse staff with commitment to delivering culturally relevant services;

Ø Strong collaborative skills;

Ø Ability to operate office equipment such as computers, copy & fax machine, phone system, etc., with strong internet and software skills; incl. Microsoft Office and Network For Good;

Ø Ability to lift at least (30 lbs.) and travel via public transportation (bus, train, etc.);

Ø Must ensure agency, program and client confidentiality at all times;

Ø Great sense of humor is a huge plus.
