DEVELOPMENT AND PROGRAMS MANAGER

NAPABA is seeking a skilled and passionate development and programs manager who thrives in building a network of recurrent, engaged sponsors and developing programs that open doors professionally for our members. If you’re a creative, entrepreneurial self-starter, this job is for you!

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS

This position will lead all phases of sponsorship and program development for NAPABA. Responsibilities include the creation and implementation of a marketing plan for sponsorship to meet or exceed overall business objectives and implementation, execution, and evaluation of all NAPABA programs. In addition, this manager will coordinate with member leadership and volunteers to deliver engaging virtual and in-person programming. The candidate should have strong project management skills and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple high-value projects simultaneously.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and implement a sponsorship recruitment and retention plan for increasing revenue in a cost-effective manner. Key responsibilities include increasing sponsorship and creating value-add benefits that meet or exceed sponsor objectives.

• Manage all sponsorship activities, including sponsor prospecting, proposal customization and presentation, contract revision and servicing, sponsor follow-up and support, trade show development, and sponsorship budget.

• Submit marketing plans, prospect activity, and forecast reports to the Executive Director.

• Plan and implement sponsored trade show at the NAPABA Convention and other Association events.

• Develop, maintain and implement sponsorship program guidelines to increase sponsorship recruitment, satisfaction, and support.

• Facilitate NAPABA’s fellowship and internship programs with corporate and legal partners with the goal of growing this initiative.

• Build NAPABA’s career recruitment program at conferences and the NAPABA Convention.

• Coordinate NAPABA Connects program and identify methods to enrich business development opportunities.

• Develop substantive programs and NAPABA activities in accordance with the strategic direction of the association.

• Establish an evaluation method to assess program strengths and identify areas for improvement.

• Meet with stakeholders to make communication easy and transparent regarding project issues and decisions on services.

• Produce accurate and timely reporting of sponsorship and programming activities.

• Demonstrate sound fiscal judgement in the use of all NAPABA resources and offer cost-saving alternatives.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

• Reports directly to the Executive Director. Coordinates with NAPABA sponsors and members focused on sponsorship, development, and programming. Consults with Membership and Meeting teams on strategy and implementation.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate has a degree in marketing, sales, or business administration and three to five years’ experience in association sponsorship, fund-raising or programming.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Strict attention to detail.

• Capacity to adapt to new issues as they emerge.

• Ability to use good judgment and work independently in a multi-task position.

• Solid time management and organizational skills.

• Proven negotiation skills and creative approach to problem solving.

• Ability to interact effectively with staff, membership, the public, the board of directors and volunteers.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be physically present on-site and available throughout the annual Convention and other NAPABA events.

• Travel is estimated at five to six weeks in a 12-month period.
