Future Link (www.futurelinkmd.org) is looking for a passionate, positive and motivating person to join our energetic student success team as a Student Engagement Associate. This person will work directly with our first-generation, low income, high potential college students (aged 18-25) to support them to and through education and career success. We are looking for a take-charge person who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative and flexible environment. This position serves as a key member of the Future Link team and will be involved in the management of an assigned cohort of students and implementation of student recruitment. This person will also be an overall partner and contributor to strategically growing the organization.
Student cohort liaison, support and management
o Primary contact for an assigned group of students, assisting with academic and pathway guidance, connecting them to internal and external resources (ex. mentoring, internships, scholarships, tutoring, etc.). The goal is to support them as they advance through their education to their career goal.
o Process includes: running recruitment events, student ambassador management, partner outreach, social media postings, seminar applicant screening, applicant tracking.
Organizational support and planning
o Provide support, planning and execution for other organizational program components including: Event Planning, Future Link’s Seminar and End of Year Campaign.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills required. Must possess a positive attitude, a good sense of humor and the ability to prioritize work effectively. Person must be able to multi-task, plan and critically think in a fast-paced work environment. A willingness and ability to work well in a collaborative environment with all internal team members and external stakeholders is essential. Only detail-oriented, proactive, mission-inspired personality types should apply.
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree required with a minimum of five years of experience preferred in a relevant discipline. Strong preference will be given to candidates with direct experience with college-level student engagement, student support services and program implementation.
Working Conditions: The position reports directly to the Executive Director. Normal business hours are 9 am-5 pm Monday through Friday at our offices located in Rockville, Maryland; occasional evening hours are required for special activities. The office work is currently being conducted remotely. We plan to return to the office in September full-time.
