Description

The Lycée Français de New York, a world-renowned bilingual French school, is seeking a collaborative, creative team member to work with the school's three-person communications office on a number of marketing and communications activities.


Responsibilities:


Working closely with all members of the Communications Team, the Communications Coordinator will:


  • Create lively, engaging English-language content to support our digital communications efforts, including email blasts and blog posts
  • Coordinate freelance photography coverage of Lycée's major events and activities
  • Take photos of daytime classroom activities
  • Curate and manage database of photos of school life
  • Proofread and edit English-language content of school communications for clarity and accuracy
  • Assist with the creation of our bilingual weekly newsletter
  • Update content to the Lycée's main digital platforms, including lfny.org and our community portal
  • Monitor Lycée's presence on all external directories and sites to ensure information is up-to-date and accurate
  • Develop and manage media lists
  • Update digital screen at school entries with fun and engaging content about school events and activities
  • Provide administrative support to communications team
  • Position may require occasional work on weekends or evenings


Skills:

  • Native-level English writing and editing skills for print, web and general public relations
  • Working knowledge of French, with comfort editing basic French to English translations
  • Demonstrated passion for photography
  • Ease and comfort in adding/editing text, photos and video to basic website and blogging platforms
  • Sound judgment and excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • A bachelor’s degree with a major in English, Marketing and/or Communications is preferred
  • Working knowledge of software products such as Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Google, is required.


Pay is by the hour, commensurate with experience. The position is non-exempt. 

Position is eligible for benefits under the New York City Earned Safe and Sick Act. Any position below 30 work hours is classified as part-time employment and does not provide benefits.
