We are seeking a Director of Marketing who will be both a leader and a hands-on marketer, who will jump right in and drive us toward our aggressive fundraising goals. MANAGEMENT RELATIONSHIPS

You will report to the Vice President of Communications and be based at Concern Worldwide US headquarters in New York City. You will work closely with the Director of Communications and Content Strategy and the content team to leverage the Concern brand and storytelling excellence to drive engagement and income. You will also work closely with a results-driven CEO and ensure effective collaboration and integration with our Individual Giving and Business Operations teams. You will directly supervise, coach, and mentor the Marketing Officer and Designer. 

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Cultivate an in-house marketing agency culture and function.

·        Serve as the focal point for all brand and marketing initiatives across multiple revenue generating teams.

·        Provide vision, leadership, and strategy for sustainable growth across current mass-market fundraising channels, including mail, web, social and email.

  • Develop and execute strategies targeting donor acquisition, retention, and upgrades.
  • Manage relationships with — and provide direction to — external agencies, including direct mail, digital marketing, brand, and creative. Ensure quality, performance and adherence.
  • Design and deploy marketing plans for marquee events.
  • Partner with the Business Operations, Development, and Communications team to optimize all donor journeys/funnels through careful data collection, experimentation, and analysis.
  • Partner with Concern Worldwide marketing and communications leads in other markets, including Ireland, the UK, and Korea, to ensure integration and efficiency.
  • Establish ambitious yet achievable targets and KPIs, rigorously monitor progress, and report to internal stakeholders.
  • Act as brand manager to ensure that all marketing and communications materials maintain visual and verbal brand consistency.

 QUALIFICATIONS

You must have a minimum of 8 years of experience in multi-channel marketing, with a premium placed on direct mail, digital and email. The successful candidate will display a strong passion for Concern’s work. A proven track record growing fundraising programs in the nonprofit sector will be highly valued, but not an absolute requirement. Demonstrated creativity and adaptability in achieving marketing goals is a must.

  •  Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree and/or record of continuing professional development preferred.
  • Demonstrated success creating strategic marketing campaigns that communicate the case for support to individuals of various backgrounds and meet or exceed revenue goals.
  • Advanced project management skills, balancing multiple priorities and leading both strategic and tactical work.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and concisely (both in writing and orally).
  • Ability to maintain professionalism while completing responsibilities in a precise, dedicated, and flexible manner.
  • Expertise in all major marketing mediums and platforms.
  • Strategic and critical thinker, with both creative and analytical skills.
  • Previous experience directing a team, including development and performance management
  • Strong capacity for budgeting and negotiation.
  • Strict adherence to ethical and confidentiality guidelines.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to solve problems and excel in a high-performance culture.
  • Innate curiosity and drive for continuous improvement.

 The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Strong commitment to the mission of Concern Worldwide; familiarity with or interest in the humanitarian or development sector a plus.
  • Experience and expertise in developing and implementing cohesive, innovative, aggressive, and integrated direct response strategies that have resulted in measurable and significant growth in net revenue and donor base.
  • A deep, broad knowledge of industry best practices, standard operating procedures, new approaches to digital fundraising and direct mail programs, system integration, and organizational efficiency.
  • Business and/or marketing degree preferred.
  • Experience with marketing automation platforms such as Pardot, Marketo, or Hubspot an advantage.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce and Wordpress a plus.
