Harbor Communities Overcoming Violence (HarborCOV) is an innovative, nontraditional nonprofit domestic violence organization that provides culturally appropriate emergency and support services and affordable housing for low-income, multicultural survivors of abuse and their children, while educating the public about the causes and consequences of domestic violence.
The Case Manager provides high-quality case management, advocacy, referrals, resources and services to families in our shelter, housing, and community programs using a survivor-centered and trauma-informed approach. Other responsibilities include: providing hotline and on-call coverage; group facilitation; and supporting client progress using data management software. Some weekend and evening hours required. Three years highly relevant experience and computer literacy required; bachelor’s or some college preferred. Bilingual/bi-cultural preferred.
Ideal candidates will have a strong knowledge of resources in Chelsea, Revere, Winthrop, East Boston and Charlestown. They will be able to balance their love of being part of a mission-centered team with working independently; have exceptional assessment, listening, communication, problem-solving and de-escalation skills; be highly creative, flexible and adaptive; and have a deep understanding of culturally relevant, strength-based strategies within an economic and social-justice framework for working with survivors, the broader community and other members of the HarborCOV team.
