WHO WE ARE

Spay Illinois Pet Well Clinic is a nonprofit high quality, high volume spay, neuter, wellness, and surgical Center. We work to remove financial barriers to veterinary care to make it accessible to all pet owners. This produces measurable, life-saving results to our local shelters and in our community.

WHO WE NEED

Spay Illinois Pet Well Clinic is seeking a Director of Development and Communications who is a visionary leader, and specializes in high-level planning and strategy, providing critical expertise to the CEO. This is a new position to our organization and it requires an experienced self -starter who has an entrepreneurial spirit and enjoys building programs from the ground up.

This person would be responsible for all aspects of developing, implementing and evaluating the annual fundraising strategy, plans, and policies. You would create and manage the department budget; forecast annual fundraising income and establish goals tied to exceeding annual income forecast and donor growth objectives.

IS IT YOU?

There’s a chance you may be our ideal candidate if you meet the description above, and if:

·      You are interested in working with a team of passionate individuals who think pets are great and the people who love them even greater.

·      You are so friendly that you have never met a stranger.

·      You understand that development is a desk job, and isn’t a desk job. One day you’ll be doing very detailed data entry and the next day you’ll have three meetings with donors and a phone call with a fourth.

·      You are so thoughtful and impeccable with follow up that Hallmark should probably hire you as an influencer for their greeting cards!

·      You so organized that your closet is in order by color (and possibly season, too).

·      You can spot a typo from a mile away and you can correct it without hurting anybody’s feelings.

·      Although you enjoy starting and completing projects on your own, you are excited to work on team projects.

·      You enjoy teaching and leading your volunteers and team to help them accomplish the goals you have set.

·      After a long day of raising money for families & their pets, you still have energy to hit the town with your friends.

·      You don’t take life (or yourself) too seriously and are quick to laugh!

·      You would love to be part of a team that has fun every day and understands how important work life balance is.

·      You are looking for more than just a paycheck; you want to make a difference for people and their pets.

·      You would love lots and lots of puppy breath and cuddles with kittens!

QUALIFICATIONS

1.     A Bachelor’s degree (prefer a Bachelors in communications, public relations, or marketing) and a minimum of 5 years of professional non-profit fundraising experience, including fundraising, marketing and event management.

2.     Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) designation is an asset, but not required.

3.     Experience developing fund development and marketing strategies.

4.     Strong Interpersonal skills and an entrepreneurial aptitude.

5.     Strategic, organized, and results orientated.

Salary: $55,000- $60,000 DOE
