POSITION: ReStore Director

REPORTS TO: Executive Director

POSITION PURPOSE

This position is responsible for managing all phases of the ReStore program by driving operational excellence to achieve our mission and vision of serving those in need.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ReStore Operations

  • Program Development – Continually review Restore’s goals and mission and in turn evaluate and enhance policies and procedures to meet and exceed our goals.
  • Employee Engagement - Lead ReStore staff – Evaluate, identify and celebrate monthly goals that are achieved as well as those employees who excel in driving our mission to propel retention.
  • Ensure all facilities and equipment utilized by ReStore (including HVAC units, forktrucks, signage, entrances, ramps, and store fixtures and displays) are maintained in a safe and attractive manner, compliant with OSHA requirements.
  • Oversee Donations Program and vehicle management.
  • Manage ReStore staff including the hiring, firing, compensation decisions, coaching/training, retention and promotions of this team.
  • Performance Management - Provide day to day feedback and oversee annual performance reviews to drive employee engagement.
  • Consistently educate and train staff on the importance of customer service, volunteer engagement, efficiency, safety and the mission of HFH.
  • Continually review the safety program and develop procedures to ensure the ReStores remain safe and effective. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with procedures.
  • Employee Engagement - Connect with Staff, Volunteers and Donors to promote the HFH culture within the ReStore through regular site visits and a consistent presence in the store and on the sales floor.

Donor Development

  • Develop and cultivate active giving partnerships with area businesses
  • Donation Champion – Continually strategize to develop a solid pipeline of donors and suppliers to ensure our mission’s success through soliciting contributions and earning support.
  • Draft grant applications as opportunities arise.
  • ReStore Committee Lead - Identify opportunities for donation procurement, analyze sales trends and create retail best practices.
  • Identify new opportunities for donor development and coordinate with Affiliate Development Team.
  • Network – Develop a network of local associations that would provide additional opportunity for donor development.

Accounting and Budget – monthly and annual

  • Prepare monthly financial reports for the Executive Director & Board of Directors.
  • Manage the preparation oft he annual budget for the Habitat ReStores
  • Prepare monthly general reports and financial expenditure reports.
  • Respond to audits, funding agencies, and HFHI ReStore Support Group
  • Ensure ReStore program is hitting all monthly and annual fiscal goals through the analysis of monthly/annual financial reports.
  • Present ReStore performance updates at monthly Board meetings.

Growth and Vision

  • Communicate and deliver the ReStore Vision.
  • Motivate and inspire staff to continually reach for more.
  • Create short- and long-term goals and aspirations for ReStore Program and Employees.
  • Work with Real Estate Brokers to identify, negotiate and attain additional ReStore locations.
  • Logistics - Coordinate the openings of new locations to ensure a successful opening and launch to the public.

Marketing and Community Relations

  • Create and enhance marketing materials to promote ReStore.
  • Promote ReStore throughout the media in an appropriate and cost-conscious manner.
  • Present program to a personal network and at public speaking engagements.
  • Increase the ReStore presence throughout the community including becoming a member of social organizations that will reach our audience as well as Social Media initiatives.
  • Network with other Habitat ReStores and serve as a mentor to interested affiliates.

REQUIREMENTS

This individual must understand and appreciate the mission of HFH. Qualified candidates must possess above-average written and verbal communication skills. Solid public speaking experience required. Must possess strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced changing team environment, and the ability to multi-task in an unstructured environment. This individual must be detail-oriented and able to work independently. Must be able to deal with all kinds of different personalities and remain consistent in keeping a professional demeanor in sometimes difficult and emotional situations. Must have proven fund-raising experience working with major donors in a nonprofit setting and the ability to communicate effectively and professionally at this level. Occasional travel may be required. CORI and SORI background checks are required.

This role will assist staff in performing store functions and, therefore, must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this role, this employee will be required to stand, sit, walk and drive and will frequently bend, squat, lift and will be responsible for actions that require repetitive motion.

This role will be situated in a work environment that has the typical characteristics of both an office and a retail store setting.

EXPERIENCE

3 to 6 years of related experience in a nonprofit environment required. Must have demonstrated independent responsibility for program management and accomplishing results. Experience supervising staff required.

EDUCATION

BA or BS preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS

Driver’s License required.
