Since 2007 Razia’s Ray of Hope Foundation has empowered young women and girls in Afghanistan through community-based education in the district of Deh'Subz. We provide free education to approximately 700 girls, operating a top-rated K-12 private school for girls along with a post-secondary institute for women – the only such facilities in the district. Led by the founder, president and country director, Razia Jan (2012 Top Ten CNN Hero), the programs have been awarded many of Afghanistan’s top educational honors.

Our Sponsorship Program engages donors by connecting them to students at our school allowing the donor to develop a supportive, personal relationship while providing the annual monetary means for their superlative education – empowering her to break free from the generational cycle of illiteracy and poverty.

Position Purpose:

·      To process all sponsorship program transactions and related tasks.

·      To work closely with the Director of Development, Country Director, and relevant staff in Afghanistan to ensure the success of the Sponsorship Program.

Qualifications:

·      Familiarity with the mission, goals, and values of Razia’s Ray of Hope Foundation.

·      A passion for girl’s education in developing countries, specifically Afghanistan.

·      Desire to engage in direct and personal communication with donors from around the country, and world.

·      Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·      Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.

·      Strong organizational and time-management skills.

·      High level of initiative and motivation.

·      Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, SalesForce, PayPal, and Dropbox preferred.

·      Ability to participate effectively in a collaborative group process; this includes listening and working well with both US and Afghanistan-based teams.

·      Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Job Description:

·      Responsible for updating and maintaining relevant Sponsorship Program databases.

·      Support the Director of Development in creating, maintaining, and executing the communications calendar related to the Sponsorship Program.

·      Manage incoming sponsorship mail, e-mails, and phone calls.

·      Manage communication between sponsor and sponsored student in collaboration with the Sponsorship Coordinator in Afghanistan.

·      Generate appropriate acknowledgments for sponsors.

·      Coordinate sponsorship mailings and updates for supporters.

·      Participate in monthly staff meetings and other meetings as necessary.

·      Keep job-related policies and procedures up to date.
