Literations improves the literacy skills of young children through grade three by engaging professionally trained older adult volunteers as literacy coaches in our partner schools and after-school programs. We serve communities where opportunity gaps exist to ensure all students have the resources to become strong readers, develop confidence, and unleash their potential in the classroom and beyond. Our highly-effective programming annually serves thousands of children in the Greater Boston area. Literations is an affiliate of AARP Foundation Experience Corps, a national leader in engaging older adult tutors to improve K-3 student literacy.

The Resource & Outreach VISTA will identify and expand resources through outreach creating and enhance existing community partnerships, funding and opportunities so the AARP Foundation Experience Corps program can better serve those living in poverty. The successful candidate will research the historical approach (including best practices), data trends, and current use of our donor database. Research foundation and institutional funding opportunities that align with strategic program growth goals. Develop and implement a comprehensive resource development plan that includes conducting prospect research, and efficient use of donor database. Develop guidelines to support updating and building out the Resource Development Plan on an annual basis. Collaborate with marketing and program VISTAs on capacity building projects, including leveraging program stories to increase the organization's visibility and steward donors.
