Status: Part Time 15-20 hours per week
The Church Administrator performs administrative duties associated with the business and facilities management aspects of the Unitarian Church of Staten Island.
Administrative: responsible for all office functions. Maintain church calendar in cooperation with Church Vice President. Prepare weekly order of service. Respond to public and congregants. Coordinate rentals activities. Manage non-congregational events. Maintain files of minutes, leases, vendors, insurance, legal and other subjects. Supervise custodial staff. May attend meetings as directed by Board. Perform related work.
Financial: Keep books using QuickBooks NFP. Prepare spread sheets as needed. Coordinate deposits with Church Treasurer. Maintain central file of finance, budgets and bills. Maintain CRM system of members, friends, contacts and related data including contributions.
Marketing: Actively market facilities including advertising, community outreach and networking. Respond to inquires, show available space, negotiate and facilitate rental agreements. Coordinate efforts with board and marketing consult to execute campaigns through print and online collateral.
Three years experience in facilities, financial or non-for-profit management. Strong computing skills including QuickBooks, PhotoShop, InDesign, email marketing software such as MailChimp, ConstantContact. Strong organizational and inter-personal skills. Good communication skills. Ability to engage with public and congregation. Ability to climb one flight of stairs. Personal car very useful. Understand and affirms the mission of The Unitarian Church of Staten Island and the principles of Unitarian Universalism.
