The American Society of Hematology (ASH), a Washington, DC-based association of physicians and scientists committed to promoting blood disease research and education, seeks an experienced Human Resources Generalist to lead the day to day responsibilities for full life cycle recruitment, onboarding, payroll administration, maintenance and reporting of affirmative action plan and EEO, HRIS data maintenance and reporting, coordinating performance management and professional development, and training on HR systems. The HR Generalist collaborates with other members of the HR support team to ensure effective and efficient tracking of all components of total compensation and production of total compensation statements; and ensures timely processing of HR vendor payments and maintenance of employee files. The Generalist also works closely with the Director of Human Resources to update policies and procedures to consistently align with federal and state regulations and adhere to established organizational standards vis-a-vis requirements of other departments across the Society. 

This position requires a bachelor’s degree and at least five years of experience as an HR Generalist including full life cycle recruiting, HRIS maintenance, payroll administration (ADP experience preferred). Qualifications for this position include attention to detail and customer service orientation; excellent organizational and oral and written communication skills; excellent project management skills, and proficiency using the Internet and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP designation highly desirable.
