DC Arts Center, a small, busy non-profit arts center with two art galleries and black-box theater, seeks part-time administrative and operational support. This is an ideal position for an individual with prior administrative experience seeking to gain more responsibility managing the administrative functions of a small non-profit arts organization. The Office Manager oversees DCAC's marketing and outreach, manages and updates the website, designs publicity material, handles day to day bookkeeping and generally ensures the smooth weekly run of the administrative office.

Specific Responsibilities: 

Administrative (30%)

• Handle day to day bookkeeping, pay bills, manage payroll, meet with accountant to reconcile monthly bank statements

• Train and oversee interns on a semester basis

• Oversee smooth weekly run of office: Answer phones, check and respond to phone and email messages, maintain inventory of concessions and office supplies 

Design and Communications (30%)

• Update and maintain website

• Design postcards for gallery exhibitions

• Prepare information for and design bimonthly print calendar

Publicity, Outreach and Fundraising (40%)

• Create or oversee the creation of press releases and weekly email newsletter

• Oversee the management of membership database, organize mailings to members

• Maintain and oversee DCAC's social media accounts 

• Assist with the planning for and execution of large fundraising events, including the biennial Cuisine des Artistes and Experience Auction, and the annual 1460 Wallmountables exhibition

• Some experience with Photoshop, InDesign, WordPress, and/or QuickBooks preferred, but more important is an ability and willingness to learn new software programs

Hours of the position: noon-7pm Wednesday-Friday

Salary: This position requires 21 hours per week as well as a monthly meeting with the Accountant for two or three hours outside of the basic office schedule. Wages are $17 per hour and average between $18,000 and $19,000 per year.
