Join BIAA as its part-time Bookkeeper and you’ll help us make a difference as a key member of our team. Working 15-20 hours/week, you'll assist the Executive Vice President & COO in carrying out the responsibilities of finance, accounting, and operations management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Reconcile bank and investment accounts on a monthly basis by the 15th of each month.
  • Review postings to the general ledger for completeness and accuracy, research and resolve discrepancies.
  • Proof data entry in BIAA’s association management system prior to processing.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring that complete backup documentation is maintained.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, year-end and ad hoc financial reports.
  • Participate in the preparation of grant and project invoices.
  • Assist with payroll compilation and submission; enter payroll-related entries into QuickBooks Online.
  • Participates in annual budgeting process.
  • Review accounts receivable and lead collections activities when needed.
  • Assist with preparation for BIAA’s annual independent audit.
  • Generates 1099’s and other year-end reports as needed.
  • Assists with maintaining insurance policies as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College degree in accounting or related field (Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred). Candidates with equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • 2-5 years’ experience in non-profit bookkeeping.
  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Highly proficient with QuickBooks Online (QBO)
  • Strong analytical and accounting skills.
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Excel/Word/PowerPoint).
  • Accurate with strong attention to detail.
  • Outstanding customer relations.
  • Responsive, efficient, and effective in a fully remote work setting.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.

Salary

Hourly pay range: $22.00 - $27.00
