The Donor Operations team is seeking a driven, organized, and detail-oriented Senior Manager, Gift Administration to lead a team responsible for processing and recording 400,000 + transactions annually into our database of record (Raiser’s Edge), posting transactions to the general ledger (Financial Edge), overseeing donor receipting/acknowledgement, and reconciling all transactional data with the Finance department. The Senior Manager is also responsible for implementing and managing systems and processes for meeting the logistical and operational needs of the fundraising staff at Share Our Strength. 


The Senior Manager, Direct Mail and Stewardship works with the Director, Direct Response to develop and execute donor-centric fundraising and stewardship opportunities in offline channels. The Senior Manager ensures that all offline acquisition, retention, reinstatement, and upgrade strategies are executed efficiently, accurately, and with a focus on the donor experience in each campaign. This individual also project manages any stewardship mailings for the Development department that utilize our production partner. The Senior Manager is part of a smart, driven, and collaborative team intent on building this still young Direct Response program with a focus on individual professional development.


The role is preferably based in Washington, DC, but could be fully remote for the right candidate. Range for offers: $84,000-$91,900.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for Direct Mail program fiscal revenue goals and contributes to overall team goals.
  • Develop and execute annual fundraising plans for acquiring, reinstating, retaining, and cultivating donors via direct mail.
  • Manage all aspects of direct mail campaigns including the creative process from copywriting and design to internal review and production.
  • Help inform strategies and design tactics for sustainer, mid-tier, and planned giving marketing efforts in cooperation with audience managers and recommend tactics for offline channel strategies.
  • Serve as day-to-day liaison to program consultants and implement strategy in line with program goals.
  • Manage production of offline planned giving marketing projects and other development projects as needed.
  • Employ a variety of communications methods and approaches to remotely manage the work and support the professional development of a direct report.
  • Review campaign results to ensure the program is on pace to hit targets.
  • Partner with colleagues to support Share Our Strength's work to be a diverse and inclusive organization, and ensuring those values are embedded in the organization and throughout our work.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
  • At least 7 years’ experience in direct response fundraising with demonstrated ability to drive donor acquisition preferred.
  • Values the entrepreneurial spirit and is able to think quickly and creatively in the moment.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships at all levels of an organization and work successfully with them.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written), including strong presentation skills.
  • Comfort in a deadline-driven environment with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical, planning, time management, and organizational skills required. An ability to manage multifaceted projects and a capacity to perform well independently in a fluid multi-tasking environment are essential.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills, including the ability to identify and work through challenges, underscored by strong judgment and emotional intelligence.
  • Proven ability to excel working independently and as part of a (permanently virtual and in-person) team environment.
  • Ease and skill in a remote people management scenario, to ensure satisfactory work and coaching of a direct report.
  • High proficiency in MS Office suite required. Experience with fundraising CRMs a plus required with Luminate and Raiser’s Edge/RE NXT experience preferred.
  • Interest (and preferably, work experience) in anti-hunger and anti-poverty issues.
