BACKGROUND: Empower Her Network responds and works with survivors of human trafficking, helping them rebuild their lives and take the next step toward freedom and independence. We do this by providing a service where there is a gap, focusing on housing, education, and employment for ready survivors. We work with nominating agencies who refer woman to us, who have the ambition and motivation to continue on their tenacious journey; Choosing their own destination.
Empower Her Network Clinician Definition:
To assess, diagnose, counsel, and provide treatment, and care coordination for survivors of human trafficking and exploitation. Clinician will work with partnering agency in managing appropriate referrals and consultations. Clinician will represent EHN to partner agency and clients served. For each client, the clinician will create and enact an individual Empowerment Plan, to provide educational, housing, employment, and consultation services to women, and to perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
Contracted, hourly position. Receives direction from Executive Director of Empower Her Network.
Examples of Essential Functions:
Interviews potential clients to assess needs for services through Empower Her Network. Essential clinician can determine the gap in services that client needs, that EHN can fulfill. Counsels and provides services for individuals to assist them in achieving productive social adjustments, interpersonal goals, and taking the next step toward their own independence and freedom. Documents clinical activity through weekly sessions, interview findings, clinical and social progress charts, and recommendations. As a member of EHN staff, sits on Program Committee and reviews other empowerment plans throughout the country to aim toward best practices. Performs administrative and general office work as required, including preparing reports and correspondence, attending meetings, copy and filing documents, etc.
Knowledge of: Human trafficking and passion for cause. Working knowledge of: trauma, prognosis, counseling, and treatment. Solution focused a priority. Current trends in the field of solutions to human trafficking, mental health, and nonprofit management. Develop and maintain cooperative relationships with clients' families, members of other professional disciplines, social agencies, and co-workers. Identify and utilize community resources.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master’s degree in social work, women’s empowerment, economic empowerment, psychology, or closely related field. LCSW preferred. As this is a contracted hourly position, ability to be flexible, ambitious, and able to work alone and independently. Passion for providing a service where there is a gap in services, to women who are survivors of trafficking and have will for independence and ready for the next step.
Level of Language Proficiency
Spanish is required.
