This is a remote position on the West Coast.


Under the supervision of the Executive Director of Church Outreach and Engagement, the Director of Church Outreach & Engagement helps lead the organization’s efforts to build a network of “life affirming” churches offering hope, help, and support to those facing pregnancy decisions in their congregations and communities.

The Director of Church Outreach & Engagement will, in collaboration with the Executive Director of Church Outreach and Engagement and MLD Specialist and President of Care Net, will build relationships with Christian leaders, pastors, denominations, churches, ministries, and organizations to effectively implement the vision of Making Life Disciples (MLD). He/she will also focus on building intentional and effective bridges to discipleship between churches and pregnancy centers. The end goal in all of this will be to see pre-born children, pregnant moms, and potential dads become disciples of Jesus Christ connected to healthy, grace-based churches.


Primary Responsibilities


  • Help lead the promotion, marketing, and sales of Making Life Disciples (MLD) products to pastors, churches, denominations, para-church ministries—especially on the western half of the US.
  • Provide project management oversight as needed based on current grants and funding streams.
  • Assist with vision and oversight for the Nation Builder community mobilization initiative, including how that integrates with Pro-Life 101 and Pro-life 102 (“Choosing Life”).
  • Recruit, equip, encourage, coach, and retain a specified number of Regional Coordinators (RC) related to the responsibilities immediately above.
  • Write and curate articles and blogs on the significance of addressing the life issue in various church communities for Care Net’s public and church sites.
  • Drive the production and/or acquisition of new products to become part of the Making Life Disciples product line, such as Next Steps training and other resources to supplement the implementation of the curriculum.


Secondary Responsibilities


  • Assist with the church workshop track at Care Net’s Annual Conference. Workshops will be designed to offer creative ways for pregnancy centers to partner with life-affirming churches.
  • Pursue other speaking engagements in earned media (e.g. radio shows), at church services, church-related conferences, and pastor events for himself/herself, Care Net’s President, and/or the Executive Director of Church Outreach & Engagement.
  • Work in collaboration with the MLD Specialist as needed and directed.
  • Other Duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications


  • Strongly self-directed and motivated.
  • Committed Christian who demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
  • Agrees with and can uphold Care Net’s Statement of Faith, Vision/Mission and Core Values.
  • Possesses a strong commitment and dedication to the pro-life position and related sexual purity issues.
  • Demonstrates a solid understanding of how churches function, including various governance structures.
  • Has program management experience, including the use of project management software.
  • Is a member in good standing at a church.
  • Strong relationship builder and communicator with experience leading diverse work teams and working with an executive staff and, as necessary, a Board of Directors.
  • Experience in product sales, including building relationships and networks to increase product penetration in the marketplace.
  • High energy with proven leadership skills.
  • Polished oral and written communications skills.
  • Strong interpersonal communications skills.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Proficient in the standard use of business systems such as Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree
  • Holds or has held a leadership and/or ministry position in a church or parachurch ministry
  • A solid understanding of the work of pregnancy centers
  • Background in product/curriculum development
  • Experience overseeing survey and other types of research projects
  • Experience in product development, such as curriculum development, writing brochures and other educational materials, and related skills.
