NJ LEEP is a college access and success program for low-income and first-generation students from the greater Newark area. NJ LEEP currently serves middle school students, high school students, college students, and family members. The salary range for this position starts at $120,000, and NJ LEEP offers a competitive benefits package for full-time employees.

 

Title & Position Summary

The Managing Director of Programs will report to the Executive Director and be a member of NJ LEEP’s Leadership Team. The Managing Director of Programs is responsible for leading the programming team and setting the vision and strategy to design and execute programs to best prepare students for their academic lives and careers.

You will also play an active role in NJ LEEP’s anti-racism work to further the organization’s mission. NJ LEEP team members are expected to actively contribute to a positive staff dynamic.

 

Responsibilities

·       Manage NJ LEEP’s program team – consisting of 7 FTE and several dozen seasonal employees – in execution of approximately 10 unique academic programs (including NJ LEEP’s Middle School Program, Saturday Writing Course, Life Skills and more)

·       Partner with program leads to measure program performance to achieve desired program outcomes

·       Serve as a member of NJ LEEP’s Leadership Team, responsible for leading program strategy for the organization and ensuring program voice is centered in all decision making and aligned with the rest of the organization

·       Identify programmatic needs and make budget recommendations as part of annual budgeting process, which seeks to ensure we are meeting the needs of the NJ LEEP community as they exist today, within the constraints of revenue projections

·       Closely partner with Managing Director of Students to conduct regular needs analyses to ensure programs are meeting the needs of NJ LEEP students

·       Other duties as assigned

 

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

·       Bachelor’s Degree

·       Ten (10) years work experience, with at least seven (7) in the education sector

·       Five (5) years of management experience 

·       Proven ability to utilize data and cross-collaboration to implement effective strategies and interventions

·       Ability to conceptualize, implement, and execute comprehensive programs and accompanying data tracking mechanisms

·       Ability to build and lead strong teams

·       Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

 

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

·       Ten (10) years work experience in the education sector

·       Experience in curriculum, pedagogy, or educational program development

·       Experience designing programs for youth in the out-of-school space
