LOCATION:
This is a remote work position however, Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance is headquartered in New York City. The individual will be expected to work with a team based in New York City and Washington, DC, and a mostly remote staff, on Eastern time zone
SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director, Donor Relations, the Development Coordinator is a cross-functional position with a focus on supporting all internal functions of OCRA’s development team. The Development Coordinator is responsible for bringing structure and efficiency to OCRA’s fundraising initiatives including donor relations, corporate and foundation relations, industry partnerships, prospect research, event management and development operations. While this role is largely internal facing, a successful candidate will also be comfortable working externally, supporting and fostering relationships with donors, volunteers and vendors.
RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties might be required):
Donor Relations
● Analyze donor database, developing dashboards, action tracks, prospect lists and initiate outreach as prioritized by Director, Donor Relations and Chief Development Officer.
● Conduct comprehensive research on both current and prospective major donors, corporate, foundation and industry funders in all relevant areas of opportunity; develop detailed profiles and provide briefings to appropriate development team members.
● Create donor reports, weekly and monthly revenue reports, and other required revenue reporting in conjunction with team members.
● Contribute to the development and execution of new and existing fundraising initiatives.
● Monitor fundraising performance and provide benchmark reporting.
● Manage relationships with Community Partner organizations as needed.
● Perform regular data review and batch commitment.
Foundation/Corporate Prospecting & Outreach
● Working with the Vice President, Philanthropic Partnerships & Community Engagement, contribute to the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategy for corporate partners and foundation grants.
● Working with the Director, Strategic Alliances, conduct industry prospect research and identify targets for outreach.
● Provide support in initial outreach and communications to potential new
partners.
● Create and distribute donation invoices for solicited grants and sponsorships and handle follow-up as needed.
Development Team Operations and Administrative Support
● Provide support to the CEO for all Board meetings and Executive Committee meetings including managing logistics; distribution of scheduling information and relevant materials to board members in advance of meetings; taking attendance; and recording meetings and compiling meeting minutes.
● With Director of Donor Relations, identify areas where operational efficiency and systems could be improved and advise on strategy to address identified needs.
● Monitor calendar of submission deadlines and required paperwork and other related documents connected with corporate/foundation grant submissions; ensure the timely submission of grant applications and progress reports.
● Provide support for OCRA’s Industry Council as needed, including but not limited to tracking registrations, virtual meeting logistics and compiling meeting notes.
● Process personalized acknowledgment letters for all major donors.
● Maintain a working knowledge of OCRA's mission and programs to promote OCRA fundraising, research, and patient initiatives.
● Participate in regular team and development meetings and brainstorm sessions.
● Attend and represent OCRA at select events or charity fairs as needed.
● Perform related administrative duties in support of the Development Department as assigned.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience.
● Minimum of 1-3 years of work experience within a nonprofit fundraising/development environment.
● Experience with CRM system and online giving platform; Salesforce and Fundraise Up/Raisely highly preferred; willingness to learn new donor management systems and technologies.
● Strong written and verbal communications skills.
● Strategic thinker with excellent attention to detail and strong organizational, analytical, research and project management skills.
● Energetic and enthusiastic team player with ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment.
● Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
● Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and other Microsoft applications.
● Sensitivity to and interest in the mission of OCRA.
● Occasional overnight travel may be required to represent OCRA at select events.

Physical Requirement
Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount
of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
