Schools Partnership Program Operations & Area Manager

The Special Olympics Schools Partnership Program (SPP) is a unique education program in Pre-Kindergarten - Transition (age 18-22) schools. We partner with schools, districts, county office of education and other agencies to offer Unified Champion School programs, which combine students with and without disabilities in sports training, competition, leagues, and inclusive activities at their schools throughout the school year. The program unifies students with and without disabilities through sports and whole school engagement. These activities educate students with the skills necessary to sustainably develop school communities that promote inclusion, acceptance, and respect for all students. 

This is multi-faceted position, focusing on data management and reporting, as well as area management as assigned.

 Responsibilities/Essential Functions

 Data Collection, Management and Analysis

  •  Gather and compile all the Schools Department reporting and participation data
  • Create monthly participation reports for use within the Department and throughout our chapter
  • Consolidate data from Area Managers to create monthly reports for grant and SONC purposes
  • Lead on UpMetrics program data
  • Provide information as needed for program evaluation, grant applications, and follow-up reports including budget and financial information.
  • Assist with the design of quantitative analyses, management and manipulation of data sets, development of data analytics solutions, and the presentation and delivery of solutions.
  • Work with databases, clean and reconcile data, prepare data sets for analysis, and assist in the design and development of statistical analyses.
  • Work collaboratively with department managers to plan and execute migration to future software/reporting platform.

·      Attend and/or present at departmental and organizational meetings and represent SONC/NV in the local communities as needed.

  • Manage the inventory of program-wide participation awards, collateral, and equipment.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

  

Area Manager core responsibilities (within designated region)

·      Oversee all of the SPP sports programming and related unifying activities and projects for students

·      Serve as primary liaison for SPP in local area schools, and work with school administrators and coordinators to grow the program  

·      Manage, expand, and implement the Unified Champion Schools program for both existing and new partner schools

·      Work with the SPP team members to create new plans and strategies to grow the following:

§ Unified Sports - Inclusive sports teams

§ Inclusive Youth Leadership / Whole School Engagement – Students engaged in inclusive activities on their campus

§ Young Athletes Program – Sports program for students aged 2-7

·      Work with school administrators and coordinators to grow the program

·      Help develop overall SPP budget and create equipment budgets for participating programs

·      Obtain necessary reports and demographic information from participating schools

·      Provide information needed for program evaluation, grant applications, and follow-up reports

·      Serve as primary liaison to youth groups in the schools

·      Identify students to serve in SPP youth leadership role for Youth Activation Committee

·      Attend meetings and present as needed for PTAs, administrators, teacher trainings, and assemblies

 Skills and Experience:

·      A passion for our mission of promoting inclusivity for people of all ages with intellectual

disabilities through year-round sports programming

·      Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including strong presentation skills

·      Strong computer skills – MS Office (specifically Excel), Adobe Creative Suite, and Google Suite; experience with relational databases such as Salesforce

·      Detail Oriented – ability to analyze and manipulate large amounts of data

·      Excellent interpersonal skills, including tactful and diplomatic communication skills and the ability to de-escalate tense situations

·      Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships

·      Ability to manage one’s time effectively – to prioritize and to complete diverse assignments

·      concurrently when working on a deadline

·      Ability to work independently

·      Flexibility - managing competing demands and adapting to changes in the work environment

·      Commitment to providing our athletes, community partners and other stakeholders with excellent support and service

·      Willingness to travel and work occasional evenings and weekends as events schedule or job duties require

·      Bachelor’s degree and/or two years equivalent/related experience required

Salary

At least USD 58,240Salary will increase to $62,400 on January 1, 2022 - exempt position
