HCZ is currently seeking a professional to manage the grants processes and procedures for the Institutional Giving team, which is responsible for the cultivation and stewardship of foundation, corporate, and government relationships for the organization. The Grants Manager, Institutional Giving is responsible for helping to ensure the timely and efficient workflow and project management across the portfolio of Institutional donors. Reporting to the Managing Director of Development, and working closely with the Officers of Institutional Giving, the Grants Manager is a key member of the Development team and will help to facilitate collaborative fundraising efforts with the Program, Finance, and Research & Evaluation teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Managing Director, Development and Institutional Giving team on grants management, to include the drafting and timely submissions of proposals, reports, updates, and other relevant communications

• Assist with the maintenance of the internal tracking system for the grants calendar; input all annual deadlines for reports, renewals, and proposals

• Work closely with Institutional Giving team and Database Manager to ensure that all Raiser’s Edge records are up to date and coded correctly, and to ensure efficient gift processing, including the filing and tracking of acknowledgment and grant agreement letters

• Work collaboratively with lead Finance, Program, and Research & Evaluation team members to create and implement efficient processes for grants management

• Represent the Institutional Giving team to donors for grants management actions

• Coordinate ongoing Institutional Giving research needs and requests with the Manager of Research

• Help to track revenue and projections for Institutional Giving

• Help manage in-kind giving, including communications with donors, coordination with Program, and stewardship

• Provide general administrative support for the Managing Director, Development and Institutional Giving team

• Support Development meetings, events, and initiatives as needed

• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualification, Skills and Knowledge Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree

• 3+ years of fundraising or equivalent professional experience 

• Exceptional grammar, editing, and verbal communication skills

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

• Must be highly organized and have the ability to pay close attention to detail

• Highly collaborative with excellent interpersonal skills and a sense of humor

• Raiser’s Edge or other relevant CRM database experience a plus
