We are looking for an experienced retail leader to build on the success we’ve had to date and strengthen the operation for continued growth. As Director of Operations, you will be directly responsible for the three retail stores and the commissary kitchen, each run by a Store/Kitchen Manager. You will be responsible for the development of people and process and for driving positive performance and delivery of the mission with your team. This is a tremendous opportunity for the right person to help create the operational blueprint to ensure the success of new stores as we expand our mission in the near future. The Director of Operations will report to the Chief Operating Officer.


Roles & Responsibilities

Financial Management

·        Manage finance and accounting functions, including A/P, A/R, payroll, general ledger, bank accounts, statements and cash; manage organizational cash flow and forecasting

·        Prepare monthly and annual financial statements including account reconciliation and report preparation

·        Create, monitor and reconcile budgets, forecasts and cash-flow reports to support the organization’s operating plans and business decisions

·        Work across the organization to support each department and ensure best practices are followed for purchasing, cash handling, record-keeping, etc.

·        Identify opportunities to improve internal financial and accounting operations to create efficient and timely flow of invoices, POs and other documentation between departments


Financial Modeling and Analysis

·        Lead the ongoing development of the organizational financial model the business evolves and expands, particularly in support of ongoing fundraising efforts including debt, PRI/MRI

·        Create financial models that help analyze ROI and performance of various projects and initiatives

·        Regularly provide clear financial views of the organization for management team and Board of Directors


General Administration

·        Own vendor relationships including insurance broker, landlords, accounting firm, payroll provider, etc.

·        Oversee administrative onboarding process for new employees and weekly payroll and benefits administration


Desired Background & Experience & Interests

·        Excited about Daily Table’s mission and commitment to affordable nutrition for all.

·        3-8 years of prior experience in financial operations, financial analysis or other related finance/accounting roles

·        Enjoys math / accounting / finance and takes great pride in working with accuracy, precision and reliability

·        Strong financial modeling and analysis skills

·        Formal accounting experience preferred; must have familiarity with basic accounting principles and practices

·        Self-directed and self-motivated; identifies a process or issue that needs attention and creates a process for it

·        Discreet, honest and trustworthy with unquestionable integrity

·        Entrepreneurial mindset; comfortable with ambiguity, change and growth in a start-up environment

·        Agile, learns quickly and comfortable with change and new ways of doing things
