Family Law CASA has an excellent opportunity for a Program Assistant to support a high energy, fast paced non-profit organization advocating for children in court who are the subject of high conflict custody matters often involving allegations of domestic violence, substance abuse and/or mental health issues. Experience working with family law matters and/or King County Superior Court preferred.

The Program Assistant works as an integral part of our team and will be report to and provide administrative support for the Program Attorney and Executive Director.

The position duties include, but are not limited to:

Act as point of contact with parties, attorneys, and court;

Coordinate and maintain all court dates and deadlines on the office calendar;

Confirm hearings and ensure compliance with;

Finalize, distribute, and file pleadings, motions, proposed parenting plans, trial notebooks, final orders and other legal documents.

    Draft, revise, edit and proofread legal documents and attorney correspondence;

    Draft, review and answer discovery;

    Litigation and mediation support;

   Handle highly confidential matters;

   Contact with court personnel, clients and other attorneys;

 Copying, faxing, screening phone calls;

·  Manage legal interns

·  Prepare and update volunteer training materials

·  Other duties as assigned.


1 plus years of experience as a Family Law Paralegal;

Excellent grammar, punctuation, spelling and organizational skills;

Familiarity/experience with Washington State and local filing rules;

Experience with MS Office Suite, Optima or other Case Management software;

Ability to work efficiently and interact in a positive manner with clients, attorneys and staff while under pressure or in stressful situations - A professional demeanor is a must!
