Who You Are

You are highly motivated to make critical internal systems run smoothly and accurately, and proactively identify solutions and improvements that you help to implement. You find intrinsic value in the day-to-day running of an office. You see operations as the backbone of a nonprofit organization and think that this work is integral to supporting your colleagues in other departments and to the mission of the organization.

You know this about yourself given your work experience and your confidence in the skills you’ve acquired. You have at least 2–3 years of experience working for a nonprofit organization or other related work experience. We recommend that you only apply if you are enthusiastic about systems and processes and how they connect to our mission.

To be successful in this position, you excel in the following professional areas:

  1. Project and Process Management Skills: Thanks to your meticulous attention to detail, anticipation of obstacles, and prioritization skills, you are adept at independently managing projects and processes that require accuracy and follow-through. Whether you are managing benefit enrollments or organizing a staff activity, your approach is methodical, creative, and enthusiastic. A complex spreadsheet with many tabs feels like second nature, and you excel at finding ways to make processes better.
  2. Systems and Technology Proficiency: You are tech savvy and a “systems person.” You quickly learn new tools and platforms, and troubleshoot tech issues. You delight in developing new ways to work more effectively. You have a good deal of experience in a wide range of platforms and apps, such as G Suite, Salesforce, and Excel. If you do not have experience with a specific application, you are confident in your ability to learn and master it.
  3. Communication and Teamwork Skills: You enjoy working behind-the-scenes, making sure that your organization shines externally. You are skilled in effective communication and relationship-building skills with a diverse range of people. Good humor, initiative, and flexibility are among the traits you bring to the table. From daily emails and phone calls to presentations to the Board, your communication of information is kind, tailored, and clear.
  4. Work Habits and Approach: You have excellent judgement and resourcefulness. When faced with an unfamiliar task, you find the best way to learn how to approach it; and when faced with a routine task, you find new ways to do it better. You bring your strong work ethic and creative problem-solving disposition to every task. You are curious, a life-long learner, and you value a diversity of thought, background, and perspective.
  5. Organizational Mission and Values Alignment: You are inspired by Chicken & Egg Pictures’ vision of an inclusive and equitable media industry and our mission to amplify diverse voices in nonfiction film. You are motivated by a culture of openness and learning, and are eager to grow with a team that is passionate about putting our values into practice.
