SUMMARY
The Programs & Strategic Initiatives Specialist provides support to National PTA’s Programs & Strategic Initiatives team. The Programs & Strategic Initiatives team provides access to engaging, educational and fun opportunities that inspire, recognize, and affect all students and their families.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Specialist works collaboratively with national staff, corporate sponsors, and volunteer leaders to implement family engagement programs. The Specialist assists with building partnerships and developing program materials that support the implementation of National PTA programs across a diverse range of communities, schools, and families. They will also support the creation, project management, project evaluation and dissemination of resources and support trainings for parents, caregivers, PTA leaders, and other stakeholders as follows:
PROJECT COORDINATION
Coordinate and implement program-specific materials, tools and resources
Provide regular communication, training and support to program participants
Provide high quality and efficient customer service to PTA leaders
COMMUNICATIONS
Support and track the development and implementation of PTA program communications plans, web content, and other outreach materials that support of National PTA’s program
Support PTA’s Storytelling efforts: coordinate, collect and track surveys, final report data, photos and stories in support of program promotion
Work within and across departments to provide program information and utilize existing channels to disseminate communication to parents, caregivers, PTA leaders and other stakeholders.
ADMINISTRATION
Oversee email inboxes to ensure timely responses to public, partner and member inquiries
Provide general program support including meeting management, collection of materials, processing of payments and running the good standing process.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in a professional office environment and remotely, currently in a hybrid structure. The incumbent should plan on partial or full in-person work for this position.
Position may require occasional evening and weekend work for special programs and/or events
Incumbent routinely uses standard office equipment including computers, phones, photocopiers, etc.
This is a largely sedentary role. Routine activities and special events may require the ability to lift files, packages and related materials weighing up to 20 lbs. and to bend or stand as necessary
Position located in NPTA, Alexandria, VA headquarters.
