The NYU McSilver Institute for Poverty Policy and Research is committed to creating new knowledge about the root causes of poverty, developing evidence-based interventions to address its consequences, and rapidly translating research findings into action through policy and best practices.

We are looking to hire a talented and motivated individual to serve as a full time coordinator. This position is part of McSilver’s technical assistance and training team and will be primarily responsible for project management, coordinating, facilitating and supporting technical assistance center. The ideal candidate will have the drive and desire to work and grow with a fast-paced team, have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, strong organizational skills, and is able to work collaboratively with a diverse and high-energy team.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate logistics for internal and external meetings and events, including scheduling, booking rooms, preparing materials, and setting up conference calls; 
  • Organize and manage logistics (e.g. travel and accommodations for McSilver team, guest speakers, conference rooms, and catering) 
  • Responsible for the oversight and implementation for in person events, webinars, communication tools (emails and bulletins), including pulling together reports and data entry. 
  • Support Technical Assistance Team and Leadership in developing trainings and presentations.
  • Participate with program level staff and managers in the design and delivery of statewide cross-organizational learning and training initiatives. 
  • Participate in problem-solving activities with program managers and staff regarding implementation of the statewide evidence-based practice and organizational change models. 
  • Organize, prepare, schedule and attend designated internal and external technical assistance center coordination meetings on an as-needed basis to strategize, troubleshoot, and provide feedback. 
  • Coordinates and participates in regular status meetings and problem-solving activities with members of various project workgroups regarding implementation of initiatives, utilizes effective communication skills to facilitate and maintain progress towards project goals and deliverables. 
  • Effectively communicates relevant project information, keeps project team well informed of changes within the organization, and keeps track of lessons learned and shared those lessons with project team members. 
  • Remains informed and up-to-date on the forefront of emerging industry practices, particularly as relates event and webinar coordination, development and implementation.
  • Works closely with internal infrastructure development team that supports Technical Assistance Center in providing the necessary resources and technologies for on-going operational needs.
  • General admin support including but not limited to: crafting and editing of presentations, oversight of listservs/email lists, maintaining calendars and meeting summaries. 
  • Travel is required
  • Performs other duties as assigned 


Qualifications:

  • BA or higher degree in psychology, sociology, communications, marketing, public or media relations, or related field, - or demonstrated minimum of 2 years experience in one or more of these areas required.
  • Highly organized, attention to detail, results oriented
  • Exceptional verbal, written, & presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to creatively find solutions to challenges
  • Team player with leadership skills, abilities and desire to interact with people at all levels
  • Demonstrated dedication to work effectively with underserved, at-risk, and vulnerable populations
  • Ability to work effectively with partners
  • Must be able to travel independently between multiple work sites and events
  • Experience coordinating staff, meeting, events and logistics
