Boys Hope Girls Hope of Southern California, a nonprofit residential scholarship program located in Fullerton, is looking for House Parents to help create a healthy family-like home experience for our scholars through love, encouragement, structure and fun, focusing on their education, growth, development and achievement. Our affiliate serves boys and girls between the ages of ten and eighteen without behavioral issues. They are smart and capable and just need the proper environment to flourish. By providing a nurturing home in a safe neighborhood, a first-class education in top-rated schools, and comprehensive college preparation, we empower children-in-need to triumph over their circumstances, become successful, and grow up to give back to their communities. 

We are seeking to a Part-time House Parents for this role! We need a part-time house parents to live outside the Boys Home and the Girls Home. . Part-time House Parents will earn $12.00/hour. Each will share the important responsibilities of Residential Counselors.


Responsibilities include:


  • Building a loving and supportive family dynamic with other staff members


  • Creating an environment of achievement by guiding our adolescent scholars in college preparation and educational excellence;


  • Providing for our scholars' physical, emotional, and spiritual needs;


  • teach social and independent living skills;


  • help provide new opportunities and activities;


  • build relationships with families and volunteers;


  • model a healthy and responsible lifestyle by providing guidance, discipline, organization, and compassion.



Residential experience is a must. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in social work, psychology, counseling, education, or a related field and experience in serving a similar population equal to at least one-year full-time work will be strongly preferred. A high school diploma is also acceptable with the equivalent of two years' full-time work with a similar population. A valid driver's license and good driving record is also required. Computer proficiency is needed.
