The Clark Art Institute seeks an energetic and detail-oriented Membership Assistant who, as a member of the Clark’s Advancement department, will assist with membership cultivation and retention for a comprehensive program including 5000+ members at annual giving levels ranging from $65 to $100,000.
The Membership Assistant works closely with the Membership Director, performing a wide variety of duties. This role is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of membership dues and distribution of acknowledgement letters, membership cards, and renewal request letters related to the membership program. They are also the first point of contact for all membership phone calls and inquiries—both sales and non-sales related; in doing this, they assist with the fulfillment of all membership benefits (for example, mailings, events, discounts, and guest passes).
The ideal candidate has the ability to maintain a high-level of confidentiality and can effectively demonstrate good judgement. They should have strong attention to detail and possess the interpersonal skills needed to interact with a wide array of members and visitors. Excellent customer service skills are needed to solicit and process membership sales, as is a resilient team-oriented work ethic. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and databases is required and familiarity with Raiser’s Edge is preferred. Prior experience in fundraising and/or membership programs in an art museum setting is a plus. A bachelor's degree or higher is required.
