St. Nicks Alliance is a nonprofit, nonsectarian community-based organization founded in 1975 with the mission to serve as a catalyst to improve the quality of life of residents in the communities of Williamsburg-Greenpoint in Brooklyn through its work in five main areas: housing, healthcare, workforce development, economic development and youth and education.

We are currently looking for an Outreach Coordinator for our Youth and Education Department.

Supervision

  • Supervise interns and Success Mentors directly 
  • Supervise and Oversee Evening/Saturday program activities, co-locators and stakeholders
  • Supervise and coach evening and Saturday Staff and specialist

Partnership/Relationship Development

  • Individually and as a team member, build strong relationships with community youth and staff as well as youth, residents, community groups and businesses in the neighborhood
  • Build and maintain a relationship with Northside Charter High School
  • Cultivate relationships with hard-to recruit youth and young adults in the community
  • Attend CBO-School partnership meetings
  • Support the planning and facilitation of Advisory Board meetings
  • Collaborate with Elementary and Middle School Sites on Division wide initiatives
  • Build strong relationships with the goal of creating a pipeline with St. Nicks Alliance High School Portfolio  
  • Attend and participate in community meetings and council committees
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners

Program Development

  • Recruit Middle, High school and adult participants and build strong, collaborative relationships with program parents, school personnel, and key stakeholders
  • Create, implement, and assess annual outreach and retention plan
  • Plan and implement an enriching Evening and Saturday program that meets the needs of the community through a variety of services, workshops and activities
  • Plan and implement a Counselors in Training Program for High School Juniors and Seniors 
  • Identify and organize College and Career workshops, activities and curriculum for High School participants
  • Contribute to the development of active, enriching theme-based summer program for high school students 
  • Contribute to the planning of Division wide initiatives such as the Annual Youth Summit and Summer Olympics
  • Plan and Organize Career Days for High School Students
  • Pan and Organize two College tours (one in the Spring and one in the Fall)
  • Have the ability to adhere to a changing environment as needed and continue to provide services in person and virtually through Google Classroom or other virtual learning platforms

Administrative

  • Maintain DYCD Connect attendance database inputting participant applications and attendance for Evening/Saturday Program and High School initiatives in a timely manner
  • Maintain participant files ensuring that applications are updated and complete for Evening Saturday Program and High School participants 
  • Attend all Division wide Leadership Meetings
  • Complete at least 15 hours of training annually
  • Submit vacation requests 2 weeks before requested time off and sick time requests within two business days of time off
  • Adhere to internal division deadlines
  • Support division led professional development efforts for front line staff 
  • Support Division wide Fundraising initiatives such as Touch-A-Truck, M5K, etc.
  • Any other tasks as identified by your Supervisor as they relate to your responsibilities 

Candidates should have at least 1 year of experience working in schools, preferably with Middle or High School Students.
