Established in 1999, Children’s Scholarship Fund Philadelphia (CSFP) is a privately-funded program whose mission is to provide students from low-income Philadelphia families with financial access to quality, safe, K-8th grade tuition-based schools, thereby increasing their long-term economic and social success. With a small but committed staff, CSFP grants four-year, need-based, partial scholarships to students from low-income Philadelphia families, all of which are awarded by random lottery.
CSFP is a diverse program, with no political or religious affiliation. Participating families come from every ethnic background, and our current 5,000 + students are enrolled at more than 170 area private, parochial and other community tuition-based schools in the Philadelphia area.
The Program Associate will be a junior member of the CSFP Program team and will be supervised by the Sr. VP of Scholarship and Program Operations. The Program Associate will support the program team. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Client Service – Interact with CSFP families, scholarship applicants and school officials in person, via phone and via email. Answer questions and provide program information in a respectful, professional and clear manner.
- Scholarship Administration– Work directly with the program team to complete tasks necessary to administer scholarship lottery and offer scholarship opportunities to families. Review, process and enter scholarship applicant data in a timely fashion and with care to ensure data accuracy.
- General Office Support – Support organizational events, assist with mailings, review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and manuals as needed.
The successful candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree and have a minimum of 2 years office experience, preferably working in customer service or for a non-profit organization, experience working with a low-income population is preferred. CSFP is seeking a self-motivated candidate with excellent oral and written communication skills, exceptional organization skills, with the ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail. The ideal candidate will also have the ability to work independently as well as work well with a team. Strong customer service experience required. Computer proficiency is necessary, specifically with MS Office programs and internet. Prior experience working with an online database is appreciated. Proficiency in Spanish required.
