RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Adelante Mujeres is seeking a Grants Officer who is passionate about enhancing education, microenterprise, and leadership programs for the Latino/x community in Washington County, Oregon.  This role will work as a grant writer, editor and will support our funder cultivation work. The role is designed to help position Adelante Mujeres for its next stage of growth and success. The ideal candidate will be someone with strong writing and editing skills and the ability to organize and coordinator cultivation efforts for funders we receive grants from. The Grants Officer reports to the Grants Manager. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Edit grants, stories, and marketing materials in coordination with the Development Team and ensure a regular flow of high-quality content.  
  • Steward a portfolio of 50+ influential partners - Foundations – to advance Adelante’s mission to achieve targeted fundraising goals. Coordinate the Grants Cultivation Strategy outreach and the monthly grants thank you lists. Coordinate and track outreach and activities to build relationships with grant funders throughout the year. 
  • Meticulously track partner outreach, correspondence, input and requirements in DonorPerfect including meeting notes and tasks.  
  • Prepare and submit foundation grants. On average, five grants per month.  
  • Assist in the implementation of systems and procedures for grant tracking. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A passionate commitment to the goals and mission of Adelante Mujeres and support for immigrant and BIPOC communities 
  • 2+ years of experience 
  • An Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., business management/administration, Grants Coordinator/Officer) 
  • Excellent verbal and written communications, especially adept at developing and pitching persuasive development presentations and execution plans.  
  • High degree of initiative and strategic problem solving.  
  • Proficiency in Spanish preferred.  
  • Ability to complete some work after business hours; ability to travel to off-site venues for meetings and events is required.  
  • Committed to education, social justice, women’s empowerment and the environment 

Additional Requirements:  

  • Complete Criminal Background Check 
  • Possess current driver’s license and auto insurance coverage 
  • Ability to travel out of town to attend workshops or trainings 

SALARY & BENEFITS: 

  • Salary range: $42,000 - $48,000 depending on qualifications 
  • Full-time exempt 
  • Telework: primarily during pandemic, up to 3 days a week after pandemic 
  • Benefits: health, dental, short-term and long-term disability, 401K pension plan, life insurance, professional development opportunities, paid leaves, paid holidays (11.5 days annually), sick days (up to 12 days annually) and vacation per year (20 days years one through five, 25 days after five years)
