Position Overview:

The Seattle Symphony Graphic Designer is an in-house position responsible for ideation and design solutions with a high visual impact for print, advertising, marketing and fundraising materials all while achieving high brand standards. This person will work with the Art Director in design and production of promotional materials for the Seattle Symphony.





·        College degree in graphic design and a minimum of 2-5 years of prior agency or in-house work experience

·        Excellent communication skills; ability to successfully communicate ideas, concepts, timelines

·        Proficiency of Adobe Creative Suite (CC) within a Mac environment including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop required. After Effects knowledge a plus

·        Knowledge of graphic design theory, typography, layout, and color theory, as well as print production process and quoting required

·        Must be a dedicated team-player with a positive attitude

·        Self-motivating, hard-working, initiative taking are key for this position

·        Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple projects on short deadlines is key

·        Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment

·        Experience managing / collaborating with vendors and internal clients

·        Ability to work occasional evening concerts as a representative of the Symphony staff



Essential Job Functions:

·        Work closely with the Art Director on design and production work which includes design of brochures, ads, publications, posters, web assets, marketing promotional videos

·        Work with the Art Director to ensure consistency of the brand standards

·        Work with careful attention to detail, timeline and budgets

·        Collaborate with vendors (printers, illustrators, photographers) to complete projects on deadline

·        Develop projects from concept through the various campaign pieces from start to finish
