The Opportunity:

You are a critical thinker and effective communicator with a minimum of three years’ experience and skill in fundraising operations and relational databases. You will be part of a dynamic and growing development team (Global Resources) that is responsible for raising more than $80M-$100M annually in private philanthropic funds.


Reporting to the Director of Donor Services & Operations, you will ensure effective, accurate reporting and analysis of fundraising metrics, providing critical data and insights that will guide strategy. You will also ensure colleagues are engaged with the database as an essential tool for their frontline fundraising, responding to ever-evolving needs and technology. Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:


Participate in Salesforce administration for the Global Resources department. Understand the needs of fundraisers and recommend improvements where appropriate. Keep up to date on Salesforce releases and relay relevant information to the department.


Create and implement fundraising dashboards and reports across multiple data sources. This could include monthly revenue reports, metrics such as upgrade and renewal rates, pledge reminders, proposal status reports, pipeline analysis, or others. Centralize list management, both proactively creating regular lists and responding to ad hoc requests.


Collaborate with other stakeholders on integration of databases and applications including Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Participate in inter-departmental meetings and strategies for the organization’s use of Salesforce.


Participate in emerging projects/initiatives such as implementing new technology or revising business rules and governance of data.


Implement regular data health checks and clean-up projects within donor database, performing tasks or assigning to staff as appropriate. Manage a proactive schedule of projects to ensure accurate, complete data within the database. Manage email/address appends, NCOA screenings, deduplication and record merges, etc.


Manage and perform data imports into the donor database as needed, both proactively and in response to fundraisers’ requests.


Provide database support and training to fundraising staff.


Participate in aspects of gift processing functions when needed. Liaise with frontline fundraising staff as well as accounting, budget, and other departments to ensure donations are recorded and reported accurately.


Work with Director and team to streamline, automate, and document processes. Maintain toolkit of procedures, guidelines, and other shared documents, and support training needs across the team.


Respond to donor and staff inquires and other special projects, as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • A minimum of three years successful experience in fundraising department, database management, or other relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce or other fundraising or relational database required. Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet research.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to synthesize complex data and communicate it clearly and succinctly to non-technical users.
  • Ability to prioritize work and perform effectively under the pressure of multiple deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with individuals from diverse cultures, backgrounds, and orientations.
  • Ability to work constructively as a member of a team.
  • Commitment to the mission of WCS a plus.

Workplace Conditions and Environment:

·        Some evenings, weekends, and holiday work may be required.

·        Participation in meetings or training in the New York City area may be required.
