Role and Responsibilities


This engineer will deliver remote and onsite support to existing Tech Impact clients and new accounts. The engineer will work with clients to provide recommendations, develop project plans and quotes, deliver solutions, supervise technicians on projects and provide follow up documentation. In addition, the engineer will provide Tier 3 Help Desk duties to resolve escalated issues. This engineer will provide maintenance to existing clients’ infrastructure including servers, networking components and backups. It is the engineer’s duty to monitor all reports and notifies clients of any issues that require action. This position will also be responsible for meeting with clients to determine technical requirements for projects as assigned by the Director of Technology Services.


Requirements & Experience Requirements


· Strong network infrastructure support and administration skills (both wired and wireless LAN)

· Excellent desktop management skills; desktops including Windows 7, 8, 10

· Strong knowledge of firewall solutions, both software, and hardware

· Strong troubleshooting abilities, including working with clients to diagnose and resolve problems

· Strong support and administration skills for cloud email solutions such as Office 365 Exchange Online and Google Apps Gmail

· Strong communication skills to effectively communicate network/systems issues and resolutions to clients

· Strong server infrastructure support skills including Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016 (on-premise and cloud)

· Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously

· Ability to create or update technical documentation

· Ability to manage customer expectations; must have a strong focus on customer satisfaction

· Ability to work well in a team environment, to handle pressure and to manage work under tight deadlines

· Basic project management skills are a plus

· Ability to travel to client sites to work onsite as needed; Must have reliable transportation

· Occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required

· Good understanding of the non-profit sector a plus


Experience


· Minimum of 4 years in the technology field with deep hands-on experience

· Minimum of 4 years of supporting technology infrastructure

· Experience in the non-profit sector a plus but not required

· Knowledge of Cisco and SonicWALL networking equipment preferred

· Working knowledge of network theory required

· Experience in a managed services environment preferred

· Sense of humor
