The San Francisco-Marin Food Bank is comprised of a dedicated team of approximately 150 staff working collaboratively to provide close to 50 million pounds of food to over 210,000 people in the Bay Area – a region where 1 in 4 people are at risk of hunger. We are currently looking for Inventory Coordinator to help provide oversite and leadership to the operation of multiple popup food distributions. POSITION PURPOSE

Responsible for preparing inventory task schedule which includes producing count sheets for warehouse specialist team. Ensures inventory integrity through discrepancy adjustments for all warehouse locations. Utilizes the ERP system to produce and maintain reports and documentation around inventory levels and adjustments made. Assist the Inventory Manager in coordinating inventory needs to prepare for yearly audits. Acts as a key contact on all issues associated with inbound produce and be the primary consultant for QC concerns. Acts as account manager for large meal programs and provides food marketing support to the Agency Shopping Floor. Oversee key CSFP processes including producing build needs, invoicing and returns.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

Food Safety

  • Participate in the food safety trainings for food bank staff annually, or as needed. Specifically, be an expert on produce (storage temperature and storage life). Be a first responder when questionable F2F loads arrive.
  • Be an expert on the F2F Guidelines for produce rejection and handle all logistics associated with these loads including securing the credit.
  • Advise on inbound cooler donated items and triage solutions to distributing this short-dated product in a food safe way.

Marketing and Account Management

  • Manage large Agency accounts (Glide, Project Open Hand, etc.); place orders for delivery, and communicate regularly regarding agency appropriate product for them to include on their orders.
  • Produce signage for the shop floor for any special events (closures, sales).
  • Lead restocking efforts on Shop Floor.

Inventory Control

  • Prepare Inventory task schedule for warehouse specialist team.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts on frequently replenished items.
  • Work regularly with the Inventory Manager on inventory counts and maintenance.
  • Perform system driven inventory movements and remanufacturing process for all branches.
  • Oversee key CSFP processes including producing build needs, invoicing and returns.
  • Complete advanced CSFP kit builds plans to ensure distribution quantities are met.
  • Reviews, adjusts, and produces weekly report on inventory aging differentials.
  • Conducts physical cycle counts at all warehouse locations.

Additional Duties

  • Manage paperwork and filing for products coming from all sources (purchases, donations, USDA items, CRF, CAFB, all others.)
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Great customer service skills; written and spoken.
  • Conscientious and meticulous performer in a hectic and fast paced environment.
  • Ability to work and interact well with individuals, from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds in a culturally diverse environment.
  • WMS Experience a plus.

ENVIRONMENT: Standard office

FINGER DEXTERITY: Requires typing on standard computer.

TALKING: Ability to speak on phone and face to face.

HEARING: Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.

REPETITIVE MOTIONS: Frequent and regular movements using the wrists, hands, and fingers.

AVERAGE VISUAL ABILITIES: Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to view computer screens and documents.

PHYSICAL STRENGTH: Medium to heavy work; requiring stooping and exerting up to 50 lbs. of force lifting, carrying, and or packing food resources.

COMMUNICATION AND COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of complex intellectual and practical problems.

MATHEMATICS ABILITY: Ability to perform advanced math skills, use decimals to compute ratios and percentages, and to draw and interpret graphs.

LANGUAGE ABILITY: Fluency in English. Demonstrated excellence in writing and editing.
